(This is directed to all the assholes who think there is nothing more to Transformers the movie(1986) than talking trucks)

Wait, there is a TRANSFORMERS movie?

Seems kind of dull to make a movie about electrical transformers, but hey, whatever?   :P

*contemplates making a long winded rant saying Shawshank is pure gold and that anyone who hates it is an idiot with no sense of fine cinema, but decides to take the high road*

Shawkshank is a great movie. I don't know about top 10 or whatever, but it's up there. I think some of the percieved "sacchrine" levels are in direct  proportion to the viewer's cynicism. While maybe the story strayed a little towards schmaltzy at times, I never thought the movie did anything but play it straight. Great turns by the entire cast including one of my favorite "hey, it's that guy!" perfomances from Bob Gunton as the wardon.

I think alot of movies get a bad rap over time as people can watch them over and over on DVD, cable and whatnot. Shawshank hit me pretty good the first time I saw it. That's why I'll always think it's great... not because of all the times I've seen it since.

Shawshank Redemption is a great film.  The soundtrack is beautiful.

I love the film too. Johnny created this thread in "retaliation" against the rest of the forum members who didn't think the original Transformers movie (1986) was the cornerstore of human emotion that he saw it to be.

So, alas, feel free to ignore this thread if you like. It was created out of spite, and I think everyone pretty much agrees that Shawshank is a decent flick.

I saw that happen on Gamespot.  Some idiot member gave Halo a review of 1.0 without even playing the game, so an acquaintance of his gave Medal of Honor (presumably a favorite of the other guy) a review of 1.0 without playing it, replacing what should have been a full review with a tirade about how the other idiot shouldn't have given Halo a bad review.

man i wonder what an unbiased comparison tranformers 1980s vs shawshank would actually look like.

I loved shaw shank and the green mile. I dont see what the problem is with them. I think the green mile is better in some ways, mostly entertainment value, but shaw shank has it's strengths. As far as prison movies go, the only other movie that stands out to me is escape from alcatraz, with Clint Eastwood.

"The Rock" would make for a good rifftrax, come on sean connery and nicholas cage in this way over budget idiot plot. I did enjoy it, but it wasnt very good.

The Ood: Apologies. I said: I hope you enjoy your meal.

Check out rotten tomatoes, happens all the time with user reviews, have to read them in order to really get the picture.

Pak-Man

Transformers has a much better giant planet-eating Orson Wells-voiced robot than Shawshank does.

Though I should admit I haven't seen Shawshank to make a fair comparison. :^)

Raven

Did Johnny unregister himself or get kicked off?  Just curious.

Hazzah

I believe, according to a former post, he left on his own accord.

Which led me to question how we found out the information he even DROVE a Honda Accord.

The mystery is still unsolved.

Why would you leave a board full of MST3K/RIFFTRAX fans????     Was his honor insulted?     Were his bloodlines called into question?

No big loss in my opinion.  He didn't listen to what anyone else had to say.
