Riff-mods:

Did Mike do the intro music for Rifftrax (since he's musicaly inclined), or is it stock?

Thanks!

Conor

None of the above.  After considering some songs with sweet riffs at the beginning, we decided to have our talented sound guy get some people he knows to record the music.  The sound they were told to strive for were a few songs by the Replacements.

Tarantulas

Is there a longer cut of the song?  Or is any other incidental music they did that has not been released.

Would make a great "web exclusive bonus material" type thing.. or something.

Tarantulas...seriously now.  I think the open music is fine and all, but if you really want to listen to the riffrax music outside of hearing it during the opening of a rifftrax, you might be taking it too seriously.

Tarantulas

Being the #1 Rifftrax fan in the world requires quite a bit of commitment. :)

A local theater chain sells the incidental music that plays during their companys logo in the lobby... scary, eh?

What is up with that awful cheesy pop-rock intro to each rifftrax? The bass gliss on the upbeat makes me gag every time I hear it. Surely there must be some better alternatives. I don't know: Daft Punk? Tiffany? Doobie Bros? Thad Jones? Duke Ellington? Wolfgang Mozart? Josquin DuPrez? ANYTHING else...

I don't mind it, but they need to cut it in half, time-wise. You start to wonder what's going on after a few seconds...

jewishcarpenter

That was probably the worst way to go about asking for a change in the intro music. You should figure out a better way to go about bringing up this issue you have and then post it in the feedback category rather than the general discussion category.

Eh.. I can deal with the whopping 20 seconds of music.

Isn't it meant to be cheesy? I thought that was the whole point...

kodiakthejuggler

It's called royalty-free music and it's a cheap way to use a song with your product without paying royalty fees or creating the music yourself.

Maybe they thought it was cheesy too?

Mike? J-Proof? Conor L? Disembaudio? Anyone care to chime in and explain?

gammer

FFW works wonders for "issues" like this.

I asked this same question a week or two ago.

Turns out it was written by some staffer / friends of staffers at Legend.

Here's the thread: http://rifftrax.com/smf/index.php?topic=281.0

There is nothing wrong with the current music, canzona.  Stop being a dim bulb.

I'm not sure name calling is appropriate.  Then again, this is the internet.

Regardless, welcome to the forums, Canzona.

Well when you use your 3rd post to the forum to insult the hard work of the Rifftrax folks, anything goes.

And dim bulb is less of an insult and more of a MST reference to "see the light". :)

Canzona, welcome to the forum.
