Wow, nice work on that saucer. Can't even see the join line.

There are a few small areas that will need a little bit more work, but it did come out way better than I thought I could do it.  And didn't mess up any of the windows.  Yet.....

Was going to work on the shuttle bay tonight but figured I'd do something easy and work on the nacelles.  They are looking pretty good in record time...

Huh, the post I thought I made a few hours ago doesn't seem to have gone through, maybe I hit preview instead of post...

Made a brass adapter to connect the model to the lamp stand I'm going to use.
And got the nacelles 95% done.

Dry fit everything I've done so far, getting closer.
Now to start on the pesky shuttle bay and tiny shuttle.  From what I've read pretty much everyone has problems getting the bay into the model and being able to close up the hull.

Lots of pictures:

I guess I have to start the shuttle bay sometime...

The tiny shuttle is going to be a pain, the nacelles are like toothpicks.

You know, the warp nacelles are freak'n huge, you don't realize that until you put them right next to something else for scale:

Huge picture, left it huge so people can see the details.

I'm gonna get you little shuttle!

There are little decals that go in it, that should be fun...

They give you the option to make it the Galileo or one other, going with Galileo.

You do have a jewelers loupe to see that while you work on it, don't you? :)  Yikes!

2X reading glasses and a magnifying glass on a stand.

(the dark gray areas still need to be painted light gray)

Shuttle came out pretty well, it should be slightly more off white but I wanted it to stand out more in the bay.  With the dim LED lighting of the model I'm sure it will look fine.

I think this is the position I'll glue the shuttle down.

Quarter to provide scale, just for you, LucasM.  ;D

For such a tiny thing, that looks superb!

[And thanks for the frame of reference. ;D]

I looked all over but I didn't have a dime anywhere.
So couldn't set you up for a turn on a dime pun...

Shuttle bay is probably as good as I can make it.
I think if it try any more touch ups I'll end up making it worse.
Next step will be attaching all the LEDs and still be able to fit it in that space....

The lighting for the shuttle bay has been a struggle.
After many different setups I had to do some micro soldering and build some custom lights.

So, after much swearing holding back from smashing the thing to pieces, this is the final lighting configuration:

Have to do some more painting on the inside of the secondary hull for light blocking, then paint the outside, then install the lights and windows in the body of the secondary hull, then put that together and work on the seams, then some tricky bits to build and paint around the hangar bay doors, then it will be close to ready for final assembly.....

That's always how I figured the wiring of the real Enterprise looked, considering how Scotty would tinker.
