Yeah sometimes you just get lucky. I've never worked with babies in my films but if I did I would be happy if the baby didn't piddle during the scene. This kind of luck would be awesome.

In your films?  What do you do?

He makes films.

Yes but I was wondering in what capacity and where, being in the film business myself.
Amateur pornography, but of a non-sexual nature.

ShadowDog

LOL I am in the porn state, North Carolina ... but no.

I write and exec produce Indie films. In the middle of producing a locally syndicated TV series which shoots next March. Its all pretty small time but very fun.

I love that obituary. Poorly worded, but so awesome.

One thing that bugs me is everyone is unanimous that Walt is dead. The location of the gunshot wound would have punctured his large intestine and maybe clip a kidney, any surgeon could tell you that this would be a very survivable wound if treated within 24 hrs. It was also clear that he didn't loose that much blood and was walking around without pain moments before lying down. I understand he was dying from lung cancer which would compound the effects of the wound but he still would have died a much slower less active death. I guess my point is did the creators intend on everyone having this interpretation or not?

The clincher for me is that the SWAT team quickly checked him and moved on with their backs to him, as if he was dead and, therefore, not a threat.

i feel like gilligan said he was dead in that colbert interview the night after, but i can't remember for sure.

I thought the same but after viewing it again you clearly see one guy stops to stay with him and the others proceed to search and then the credits roll.

TheUnabeefer

Didn't he die with his eyes open!? I'd say that was a fair clincher to his death....
...and there he was, reigning supreme at number two.  The One... The Only... The Unabeefer.

Hey, if Padme can die from a broken heart, one poorly placed gunshot wound can kill Walt.

I lost the will to live YEARS ago, but I'm still kicking.

Because you're immunized. See, it works.

Knowing a little about these kinds of weapons from the decade I spent in the US Army, I assumed that he was hit by a ricochet and hemorrhaged internally, which is why it took so damn long.

My brother and I were talking about it today, and he expressed a post-finale desire to maybe have seen Walt find his money still on the back of the truck and drove off behind Jesse with it to live happily ever after somewhere. The wound could easily have been superficial because we really didn't see that much of Walt's blood. But, of course, we realize that the implication was that he died, so he died. And even though we never saw Lydia's bones, the implication was that she would die, so she died. Anything they go out of their way to state in a finale like this, such as Elliot and Gretchen's delivery of Walt's money to his son, is what will canonically happen.

And it really did end the right way. I don't think there was a better way for the show to end. Even though Walt died, the audience is left with a happy feeling because of Walt's demeanor and the tone set by the music. It is a happy ending for the audience, which, ultimately, is all that matters.
