Raven

Hey gang.  I'm back on here for the first time in almost 3 years.  It's been a busy couple of years for me.  My wife and I bought our first house and I now have a daughter that turned 1 back in February.  I'm still helping my mom run our family business since my dad passed away a few months before I dissappeared and I'm back in school.

I stopped posting mainly because I was unhappy with the lack of variety in the new releases back then.  It was the re-riffing of the legend releases Mike had already done and series that they'd already done several movies for.  The full length VOD movie releases weren't up and running then and the shorts didn't seem worth a full dollar for 10 minute long clips.  Of course almost immediately after I stopped paying attention, they stopped doing whatever the new Blockbuster that was being released that week and start doing off brand  movies again, like High School Musical, Karated Kid III, Birdemic and Highlander.  Serves me right for bailing.  So I guess I'm looking for recommendations on what the best riffs have been since Avatar, which I'm pretty sure was the last one I saw.

Now I have another topic that I'd like to discuss that almost no one will care about, but those who do might actually care quite a bit.  Regarding my Raven's Riffs projects.  Back then I had a lot of different friends that had seen the end results of the 3 riffs that I finished, and wanted to do one with me.  That led to a lot of projects being started and absolutely none of them actually getting finished.  I thought I had more help with the grunt work portion of the process than I actually did and because of this I started too many projects.  Now, I'd love to say that I can fulfill all of my promises but I don't want to dig myself into that hole again.  I'm pretty sure my equipment still works but finding all of it may be a chore because of our move.  That coupled with the fact that I haven't reauthored a dvd in almost 3 years means I need to teach myself the process all over again means this... absolutely no promises.  I do want to thank everyone who took the time to submit scripts to me and I hope in the end that you will get what I promised long ago.  In the mean time, I'm terribly out of practice at cracking jokes on an every 7-10 second pace so if anyone who iriffs is looking for scripts please let me know as I'd love to get back on the horse.

In closing, I'm back and while I may not spend 8 hours a day on here like I did back in the day, I do look forward to having conversations with you fine folks once again.  So what did I miss?

So what did I miss?
"Isaac"  revealing that he was Doctor Who all along and that Isaac was merely his comedy persona.
RVR's awesome Rocky Horror medley video performed in full Frank regalia.

To name a couple of things.

Bob

Hey, welcome back.

Still watch your riffs and would like more too!  Well, I guess that never changed.

Raven

Well Tripe, those both sound about right.  Glad to see RoninFox got RVR his Dune riff.

Glad you still watch those Bob.  Still providing artwork for everyone?

Some of them, for sure.

Your next one will be covered of course!

Also, I've been making a push to become a Global Moderator so's I can ban everyone.

When I become a global moderator, you will be banned first.

I see MrTorso works here now too.  Makes sense.

Any dramatic exits?  I see Steve-O and GregMcDuck haven't been on in some time and bettertomorrowamy isn't even registered anymore.

Johnny Unusual

Yeah, Greg's been gone a long time.  BTW, did you ever take part in the LoC?  We've been short on people lately and could use more lists (there's a vote off right now between cover songs and fantasy movies, if you are interested in voting).

Let's see, what else... Oh, the VODs have been very interesting.  Though I have hung around due to the company, it had been a while since I bought a rifftrax, but I got some great interesting ones recently.  It's not just public domain anymore.  They got franchises now!  Doctor Who! Psycho! And no syncing!  I recommend Cool as Ice, the Guy from Harlem (best worst blaxspoitation movie ever) and Santa's Village of Madness (with the Mexican Santa from MST3k!)  WONDERFUL!

Yeah I did some of the LoC.  I saw the iRiffs one.  I was pretty excited to see my name on a couple of lists even though I'd been gone so long.  For future ones, I'll probably send something in if it's a topic I'm familiar with.  Wouldn't have been able to think of 25 musicals but the 2 voting options have possibilities.

Unrelated question.  How do you get quotes to work on the forum?  I tried Internet Explorer and Firefox and pressing the button just moves the cursor to the quick reply at the bottom and quote's nothing.

Pak-Man

It's a little glitch caused by the quick reply window that's been going on for a while. You can work around it by right-clicking the quote button and opening it in a new window/tab, or you can just turn off the quick reply window. Go to Profile, Modify Profile, Look and Layout, and then go to the bottom. Set the Quick Reply option to either "Off By Default" or "Don't Show at All" and you should be able to quote like crazy.

Good to know.  Thanks Pakky.
