Just incredible.   Disturbing.

It is particularly disturbing to think the person behind it may be feeling 'rewarded' by all the coverage, thereby - to themself - making destroying other people's lives irrelevant or OK.

As a victim of someone else's not caring enough about how their actions affect others (on three occasions), I find it hard to read any of what is being written about this (I lasted maybe 7 'updates' on the list Im linked to [following none of the links] before I couldn't take it anymore and had to quit).

I'm sorry for those who have friends or relatives in the area.  I hope they turn up uninjured.

I follow someone on another website who works in a building a block away from where it happened. He posted a journal about it a few minutes after the fact, and from there I was reaching for info everywhere. It's actually kind of weird to get developing info (however chaotic or semi-accurate) this early on in this sort of thing, especially for someone like me who's usually so disconnected from everything.

Right now, I don't think there's anyone to blame. That comes later. Now it's just people who need help.

Well, since the quote thing isn't working for some reason, I am glad to hear that k1's folks seem to have gotten out of there OK.  I remember in 2001 my cousin was working a few blocks away from the World Trade Center and it was awhile before we heard from him (he was fine), so you and yours were the first things I thought of when I heard the news.

Something happened at a local gas station.  Don't know what yet, police cars and ambulances and traffic is backed up on the service road for at least over a mile.  Interstate is OK though.  Nothing on the news yet.

And this Boston shit.  It may be silly, but I can't help but worry.
