I'm in the UK and I'm having trouble finding a copy of this that isn't the Director's Cut...anyone have any advice? If the DC isn't too different then I could manage but I'm not sure which bits have been added/any bits removed.

xXx was the first rifftrack I did, and that time I accidentally used a DC without realising it but was able to work out, going along, which bits went where because it just added a few short scenes and didn't seem to take much out.

Anyway. I've heard so much about how bad this film is, I'm a big fan of the original, and I really want to watch it with Rifftrax!

For the Rifftrax they used the unrated cut on the American release, in the UK the same cut was released but they called it the Director's Cut.

There's only the one version available in the UK, but it's the version they used for the Rifftrax so there shouldn't be any trouble with it

Redclaire

ah, thanks, that's great!  ;D

I'll go out and get it then.

I am hoping its the same here in NZ.  It's only just being released, but it only say The Wicker Man, nothing about which cut at all.

Yeah, trust me...you're not really missing anything special. The track was good, but other than that, I would consider myself lucky if I COULDN'T watch it.

The riff is good, the movie is awful.  If you do want to try it though, my understanding is that the difference between the theatrical cut and the directors cut are two extremely brief shots in the last few minutes of the movie so it should stay pretty much in synch.  I wouldn't buy on that advice from a random message board stranger but if you really want to see the riff renting might be worth it...

BobEvil

Yeah, definitely rent. Other than you might not be able to use the track perfectly, friends might see you own it and then lose respect for you.

I KID! Seriously I'd rent just to be safe. If you ever feel like subjecting yourself to this again, you can always rent.

Yeah I'd say rent it, if you really like the riff then get the American version imported from Amazon.com or something

I have it here all mixed and ready to go. so I will probably end up watching it at some point.
