Troubles reauthoring?

So did anyone else have to do an insane amount of editing on the riff to make it sync with the movie, or did they release a riff for an extended version I didn't get?

I didn't have any problem, but maybe my version is different. By chance I had a BD version at home that I used to downcode to a DVD-9 version (using BDLite). I reauthored that the usual way and didn't have any problems. I'm also in the U.S. in case you're using a PAL version. Good luck!

My copy was recorded off an On Demand rental.  I had to add seconds at various points in the commentary so it would sync.  I had a similar problem with Eragon a while back.  Most times the recordings sync just fine.  Netflix is sending me a DVD so I'll try it again.  The picture quality will be better anyways.

None. Actually synced just fine and quick for me. I used the retail Blu-ray.

After synching and autoducking, I had to add 1 second of silence to the begining of the audio.  Then it was fine.

Did some research first, and dl'ed the latest DVDFab first.  Found out my laptop's DVD drive is going out, so I used my imagination (my niece's computer). Things are looking good at this point.

Holy crap, I used my laptop and it worked perfectly, but it wouldn't work on my desktop. What the hell, man?

Everything lined up perfect in my Pinnacle Studio version 9.4 :o
It did take me a few minutes to refresh my memory on what steps I needed to do to get the reauthor started but I got it 8)

I had Nero import my recording of the Hunger Games directly from the disc and it turns out to be 7 seconds shorter than the MP4 Handbrake created from the recording.  Well I guess have to use Handbrake only for commercial DVDs.  Reauthoring this rifftrax again.

Ripped it with Handbrake... but it looks like its only the first half of the movie.

Are you on PC or Mac?

Mac.

I renamed the output file so it was different than the default for the disc and it worked as far as I can tell.

The new reauthor synced perfectly.  Even though the netflicks DVD arrived I'm done with this project.  A good riff of a fucked-up vision of the future.

The movie video somehow lurched .75 seconds out of sync with the audio.  That doesn't sound like a lot, but believe me, it's a HUGE difference.  Took a while to figure out the gap and get it fixed.  I hate when that happens.

I have forgotten this trick and then after experimenting remembered it too many times now...

I primarily use Nero to create the movie and DVD menus.  To do so I use Recode and read directly off the original DVD while AnyDVD runs in the background.  This works 95% of the time.  During Hunger Games Nero Recode balked at creating an .mp4 file straight from the DVD.  AnyDVD was at the latest revision.  I reverted to creating a folder in File mode with DVD Decryptor, then processing that folder with Nero Recode.  Even then Recode had a bunch of pop up dialog boxes that seemed to indicate impending failure, but I replied 'no' to all of them the end result was a proper, error-free .mp4 of correct runtime and full resolution.

At any rate, the Demuxed audio (DVD Decryptor straight from DVD) lined up with the Rifftrax perfectly.
