Turns out he's signed an exclusive contract with them until June 2015.  So it is not only that he will be writing/directing Avengers 2 and a TV series, but he also will be at the lead in the overall direction of 'phase 2' of Marvel cinema (i.e. where individual film storylines will go, apparently starting with the second Captain America film and the Guardians of the Galaxy one).  [Whole paragraph is link to article.]

My wish would be that he would initiate a Warlock series [film/TV, I don't care... though I'd love it to be weekly ;)] doing something akin to Starlin's 'Magus/Thanos' storyline (Strange Tales 178 through to Marvel Two-In-One Annual 2); but not repeating it, as Whedon could do something with even more depth.  Next is spoilered for tail-end of Avengers film and for where that Warlock storyline went:

So WB has Nolan, Dreamworks has Del Toro & now Marvel has Whedon?  That's awesome!

Does that mean that technically Disney has Whedon?  Cause there could be some cool stuff with that partnering too.

Already has been: Toy Story, Atlantis, and more (though he didn't have full creative control of those projects).

Speaking of the Disney connection, a friend and I were talking about Wasp and we were thinking it's a surprise she's not shown up yet. Her character, and her fecking huge wardrobe, would seem to make her perfect for Disney; she'd be a flesh and blood Disney PrincessTM. :)

I dont follow.  How is wasp a princess?  I dunno i get the wings thing might be kinda cool for littel girls, but thats about it.  Plus in the comics her entire arc (along with ant man) has to do with insecurities and a sometimes abusive relationship with ant man.  Id keep that away from the movies.

Have you seen the Disney Princess line of toys/clothes/etc?

Most of the characters in that line aren't actually princesses either, plus it was a joke about Disney marketing.

I do want to see Wasp in the movies though, a great deal. Hank can stay away Jan needs to show up.

yup, not a lot of tight fitting skin tight stuff there.  http://marvel.com/universe/Wasp

So its basically just the wings thing, which they already got with tinkerbell (and another tink movie coming out to theaters shortly)
