One of the first Mexican wrestling movies to be titled by an excitable 5 year old boy using a box of magnetic poetry, Neutron the Atomic Superman vs The Death Robots is not to be missed. The sport of Lucha Libre was once so popular in Mexico it spawned the genre of Luchador films, in which popular wrestlers played crime-fighting superheroes. Here's hoping Hollywood finally rips off this great idea and replaces the cast of Avengers 2 with Stone Cold Steve Austin, Brutus the Barber Beefcake, and of course, for a little sexy eye candy, the Bushwhackers.

Neutron, whose exposure to atomic energy has given him the power of - well, being moderately good at wrestling - takes on the evil Dr. Caronte, who you know is a legit doctor because his Mexican wrestling mask is white. But the real star of the show is Caronte's little person sidekick, Nick. With his unibrow and voice that sounds like the death rattle of an emphysemic frog demon, Nick fever is sure to sweep the nation like nothing before! (Note: Nick fever and its resultant sores are currently untreatable. RiffTrax cannot be held accountable for Nick fever related insomnia, infections, or gout.)

Join Mike, Bill, and Kevin for one of the few superhero vs. robot movies to feature no actual superheroes OR robots, Neutron the Atomic Superman vs the Death Robots!

Woah.  Is this a pre-synced video of an older movie?  Impressive, and a real change of pace from your usual fare.

Part of me thinks they're doing so many of these because they're preparing for Manos Live... but it's probably because they're less labor-intensive and more profitable. Though they won't ever say that outright.

maybe michael bay left a(n exploding) horse's head in each of their beds 'cause of the transformers riffs.

More profitable, yes. Less labor-intensive, not at all - about the same, actually. Even with the player, people just don't want to sync video - it seems as simple as that. Apologies for the consistent release of product in convenient formats.

Well it's obviously more profitable.  They charge twice as much.

Does that mean we will only be getting Hunger Games, Avengers, and Dark Knight Rises as the only old style sync Rifftrax for the rest of this year?  Cause I hope we will see at least those three mega-blockbusters get the Rifftrax treatment.

Still need to catch up on my Rifftrax purchases.  Quite a bit behind now.

I honestly have no idea about what releases we're going to have. Everything is kind of live-show focused right now...but there will be at least a couple more pre-synced features before another mp3.

I prefer the VODs by a mile! Keep 'em coming! ;)

you know, i like oatmeal. oatmeal is warm. and filling. and nostalgic. but if you have it every day, it almost gets boring. every once in a while, i like to have some french toast with bacon and eggs and sausage.

i guess what i'm saying, is: does anyone want to go to denny's with me?

I'm game for Denny's!!

And I also understand slash agree with what else you meant.  I still say that the lack of 20q's, combined with the lack of really caring what VOD release is next, combined with the lack of "excitement about what various movie might possibly be the next riff release... could it be 80's crap? big budget? 90's crap? 70's crap?! Oh wow, it's some movie I used to watch religiously but now realize it's really dumb and I totally didn't expect them to even THINK to riff this movie!!!" is why the forums have died down in activity.

I pretty much am only expecting VODs of old, old shitty movies... and a Twilight riff when it's on DVD... and that's really about it anymore.  I have to admit I let out a sigh of disappointment at the email I just got.

I understand completely why capitalism is their main goal here, with a secondary goal of attracting mild/newer fans....  but I still can't help but feel a big thumb-to-the-nose at the long-time hardcore fanbase that's being pushed away.  But this has been talked to death already in other threads.

I am sure I will enjoy the new VOD release(s) whenever I get around to putting money into buying them.  They have been very solidly great riffs, these VOD riffs... but I really have no excitement building up to them anymore and haven't since they stopped the variety and actual fun build-ups to the riff.  :/

Sarcastic apology accepted.  ;)

I already own every MST3K episode ever released on VHS and DVD.  If I'm in the mood to see the guys riff on Z-grade dreck, I've got plenty to choose from.  I hope they do a few more movies that with real stars in them this year, but I'm not gonna hold my breath.

Thankfully, there's still a little bit of the back catalogue that I don't have yet.  After that, I think I'll check out some iRiff groups.

Hey now, I'm not bashing the VOD releases. I love everything Rifftrax does equally. Sorry if I came off bitchy.

Ditto!!!  Actually, some of my favourite recent Rifftrax's have been the VOD's.  Oh wait, that's all there's been since February. ;)

Seriously though, I do really enjoy them.... I just can't always give up my entire daily food money for Rifftrax as much as I could my work-break soda money, so I can't get to buying them as much.
