I just went to my YouTube channel to listen to a song that I had saved to my favorites list, and I saw I had a message in my inbox. It was a surprise to me, since I didn't even know I had an inbox at YouTube. This is what it said:

QuoteHi There!
My name is Lori Ryan and I'm a producer at WeatherNationTV, a new all weather cable company broadcast in several cities around the United States.

I just watched your incoming storm video. Great footage. Was this from today? July 8th? Let us know if we could have permission to broadcast your video with credit to your YouTube channel.

You can watch WNTV by checking out our website at http://www.weathernationtv.com

Please confirm you own the rights to all elements of the video -- if you do not let us know so that we can edit out those portions of it (music, third-party apps, etc).

Also, let us know if you would be willing to grant us permission in advance to broadcast any future videos you may post on YouTube related to weather.

Thank you again for your consideration.

If you have any more questions about the on-air use of your video, please visit our website weathernationtv.com

We look forward to showcasing your work in our broadcasts.

I was like, Uh... sure?? I guess?? They didn't even have to ask permission, I don't give a fuck, but I guess they have to for legal reasons.

I've gotten PM's a few times like this and said the same thing, but beware they may want to use your videos (including future videos they may be interested in) for free and they wind up making some kind of revenue off your video..

Once or twice for free is fine but should they contact you in the future for use with no revenue to you, I would ask if they will receive any income from it and if so, you may request a percentage, otherwise, I would say no.

I honestly don't give a fuck if they make money off of it. All we did was take a short video of some lightning strikes. Use it all you want, and God bless.

That's why I only take important pictures with my eyes and store them in my brain.   And since I have guns and a doberman, good luck robbing my brain.

It's kind of grating that the sound is a little bit off; I had to look away when she's strumming the guitar.

People are welcome to (almost) anything in my brain. Good luck finding what you're looking for though. I can't even do it half the time. Many MANY times I've been in the middle of saying something, and I'll get to a word or phrase that I know exists, that I know that I know and that I know means what I want to say. But I can't find it in my brain at that moment. I know that happens to everybody, but it happens to me a LOT more than average. That's why I prefer typing. The interior of my house is a perfect allegory for my mind: completely disorganized. Where ever anything happens to end up, that's where I leave it.

Anyway that wasn't the point of this post. This was:

I love flash mobs. At least as long as the music is something I like, which is almost anything. I particularly like how they seem to bring together people of all ages and all walks of like. They get kids interested in older stuff, and they show older people that newer music styles don't necessarily suck.

The third one is especially good.

Variety of Cells

Found something interesting.  My attention span for something that I only mildly enjoy is pretty much exactly 3 minutes and 15 seconds.  I remember because I would stop the video and see how much is left, and after I watched my 4th video I realized that I had sopped them all within 10 seconds of 3 minutes and 15 seconds.  After that I need more of a desire to know what is next instead of just a respect for what is being done if I am to watch further.

Good god, so I'm not the only one. It's like you have a perfect concept of what it is in your head, but the word itself just refuses to rise to the surface. Really freaking annoying.
