Well I think people are just overly critical of the two matrix sequels because they had such a high standard to live up to. I happened to like the 2nd and 3rd one as well. But then I like pretty much all movies. It's rare that I find a movie that I just don't like. Save for MST3k movies. Most of them are just so bad :P

Yes but take a look at the 2nd pirates movie. 1) It's pretty much filler material we can do without, 2) It's got the lead character disappearing in the end, 3) It points to a "grand finale" in the third film. Eh? Eh? See the smiliarites yet??? Eh?

At the end of the second film the main protagonist is taken by and agent of the bad guy in order to repay a debt; the hero and heroine then plan to save him.

Sound familiar? Ahem...Pirates of the Caribbean: The Jack Strikes Back!...cough...

I know. After I saw PotC2, I thought, "Great....this is just like the matrix sequels just with a pirate hat." lol The first movie could stand by itself but they are now making two part movies basically. This is starting to be a trend in Hollywood. After all, they are thinking, OK...a way to make even more money now. I wouldn't be surprised if you just see a movie and then it has a too be continued at the end of it making it just a two part movie. AHHHHHHH! :-",

I'm pretty excited. Mostly because this is totally going to have Barbossa. I thought he was such an awesome character.
Those are my principles, and if you don't like them...well, I have others.

Whoah, whoah, woah!

Just one minute here people! Just one New York minute!

Am I getting this right?

Am I to believe that no one's timbers are shivering? Not one timber?

Make no mistake, I await this film moist with anticipation (Johnny Depp's performance alone is worth it but Keith Richards too!?). That doesn't mean I won't poke holes in the entire series or admit that Orlando Bloom can act.  ;D

I am absolutely quivering with school-girl-like anticipation for the new Pirate's movie...

Pirates is arguably the Star Wars of this generation - the whole summer blockbuster idea that's just fun, and well-directed. I really can't wait!

As far as trilogies go, it's up there in my list. LOTR, Godfather, * ,Star Wars

* = expected placement of Pirates in List.

(Actually - It may tie with Godfather cuz GF-3 wasn't very good, which brings it down a bit imo....)

heh looks amazing.  I cant wait.

but proof i though LOTR was the star wars of our time?  Or was that the godfather of our time?   Regardless it looks awesome, and i REALLY enjoyed both one and two.

Yes, all we need now is the phantom dictator of krankor.

J-Proof

LOTR is like, a whole thing on its own, yo....lol

I guess you could say LOTR is the Star Wars of our time, and Pirates is the Indiana Jones of our time.... or vice versa.

Either way! Chow Yun Fat is in this one, which makes this movie kung-pow-holy-crap!!.... Chinese pirates man! That /somewhat/ touches my heritage!! If this movie shows crazy Igorot pirates with jagged bolo knives jumping from Chinese junker masts, then I'm sold!

(Can't wait)
