Sooo, what did you think?

I feel the Rank a Riff thread is very useful in determining the quality of a rifftrax. So I ask users that have downloaded this Riff, please let your voice be heard by the poll and by the comments!

I voted 6.  It was humorous but also seemed to be missing "something."

We had watched this a few weeks ago. I figured that the middle part of the movie might be too slow and dull to support riffing, but they did a good job with it.

The riffing was good, but the movie... It's been a while since I pulled the chute halfway through a flick (Carnival of Souls might have been the last one), but I had to take a break.

Not a condemnation of the Riff.

I've started watching it twice now but still haven't made it to the end.  The movie is so bad but I'll give it another shot,  maybe with a shot or two of whiskey.

I had initially ranked this an 8. If I could change my vote I'd jack it up to 9... maybe even 10. It's funny as hell, but not quite as good as GhostHouse.

I'm on my third attempt to watch this movie, and I still don't have the slightest idea what's going on. Something about bikini girls, Sheila "Van Helsing" Frankenstein (what?!), an electrified brain, androids with sunglasses, bikini girls, aliens, John Carradine, four guys and a dog balloning, disappearing buildings and bikini girls.

Guess which part I liked best.

I agree that this wasn't as great as Ghost House, but the movie was so bizarre I think the guys should get serious kudos for even attempting it.  And yes, it was funny.  I'd give it a solid 8.

I gave this a ten. An instant classic and not only it it going into my top ten, it may be my favorite riff yet (these things need a few days/weeks to settle esp. when the pill if Frankenstein sized and shaped).

I don't think I stopped laughing once for the entire length of the riff. There were some real over the top moments where I thought I might be in heart attack country--it was that funny. Reminded me a lot of a classic sci-fi era ep. Some great call backs to MST and other Rifftraxes.

The movie itself is a gem. Truly demented. I didn't give a damn what was going on...I just settled in and enjoyed the nuttiness and on target riffs. Favorite scenes were the ones with the 200 year old man and climatic battle. I wish I could remember some of the best riffs.

I'm guessing by the comments so far and sheer weirdness of the film that this a riff that will divide fans. Sorta of in the same league as Incredibly Strange Creatures and Horror of Spider Island (like those this one had a pseudo "sleazy" feel, not one iota of sense, and a director --God bless, Jerry Warren and Steckler-- with the mentality of 10 year old). Some will love this to death and some will find it too hard to take.

The movie itself was a real throw back to the 50's. I think Warren was trying to make a tribute to the old B movies of that time: it could have been made in the 50's--only the fashions had changed and, well, no smoking skull bongs back then. The machine gun (never fired, love that) would have been a rifle and the costumes less skimpy but that is about it.

If you haven't seen this yet, you have a treat ahead.

This was a weird one... no doubt there. Frankenstein Island never quite reached the Coleman Francis pain levels, more moderate than deep hurting... but there were stretches that didn't feature much going on... Where the riffing would get reduced to poking fun at the lack of lighting, or if the actors knew the camera was on, etc. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but it's a pretty obvious hint that the movie isn't providing much meat to chew on. So there were lulls in the laughs, especially in the middle 'act' (it's tough to attribute conventional plot structure elements to this script, so take that for what it is) When the movie did it's part and did some heavy lifting with the riff fuel, things were enjoyable and occasionally laugh out loud funny... Quality over quantity made up for the dull stretches. Overall, I gave it a seven. They made the best lemonade possible with the lemons they had on hand.
