I think this looks too much like a movie costume, not something that he or his mother (assuming she helped make it) would make.

Thats the photoshopped version!  I found the original, there's a reason it looks really costumey!

I thought Captain America did it pretty well.

I haven't seen Cap yet, but with him it would actually make sense for his costume to look like it was made by ten or twelve people, because he's a military project, and the military tends to go all out on stuff like that, especially in WWII.

In the movie he starts out being used by the army to sell war bonds with a stage show and movie serials, and he uses the same costume the first time he does something heroic and then he makes a few changes but it is still the same costume.  I agree they did a great job explaining the costume in the movie.

Ward Bonds?  You mean they made a bunch of clones of John Wayne's frequent co-star and Cap was selling them to people?  I don't remember that from the comic book.

Russell Crowe as Jor-El:

Meh.  Out of context, it barely means anything, but it certainly looks...dramatic.

Compound

Are we sure that's not a clip from Game of thrones? Just saying it looks more appropriate there than in a Superman film.

I like Russell Crowe's... Zeus costume?  I'm gonna go with that.  Oh, or a  relatively low-key skeksis.

Look like they are going for an ultra dark feel to this movie and I don't think that fits Superman at all.
