The RiffTrax seal of funny is a very nice addition. It's like Beefer's strip idea, but in badge form. Beef Badge.

I'm honoured to have my name applied to something so neat and not-by-me!

[edit] Oh and even though I had nothing to do with the badge, I still have decided it shall be referred to as the "Beef Badge" **nod**  I have spoken. [/edit]

Lady Frankenstein is the same actress that played Batwoman, just using a different stage name, well, slightly different, guess she drops the e in Katherine for films that really suck.

Can't believe this was made in 81, I would have guessed it was way older.   And going by the clothing and hairstyles, I'd guess it was really shot 10 years earlier....

I think I missed quite a few riffs because I was so confused by the movie, this will take a few viewings to get all the riffs.

Does anyone know what year this film was actually shot, as opposed to the release date?

AFAIK, it was shot recently before the release (save time for editing (yeah right) and production) ... and my guess would have been 79-81 anyways, based solely on the hair and clothing style.  The women's hair was very clearly late-70's (which also spilled over into the first few years of the 80's) and the same goes for the men's clothing and hair.

I see no reason to think otherwise.

Ok, I'm about at the half-way mark, so here's a quick recap:

So there are these balloonists, and they crash-land near an island and get there using their inflatable rafts. There they find hot cave women, including one that is chained up between two trees. These cave women wear leopard-skin bikinis and speak perfect English. They like dancing in front of a mirror, waving snakes around and looking at spiders. There are no males around, except the crew of a stranded ship. Whenever someone mentions a geographical location their arm goes numb. There is a Lady Frankenstein whose real name is van Helsing. And John Carradine is Doctor Frankenstein, only he isn't, because he's dead, except in one flashback and the framed photographs that are strewn around the house. There are servants that are immortal undead killing machines that only have one weakness - their eyes can't stand the light, which is why they don't react in any way when you take their sunglasses off. They occasionally "snatch" cave girls, which does not seem to faze anyone. And they have "no blood circulation", for some reason. The balloonists now want to build a raft to get away (ignoring the vessels they arrived on) something no one else seems to care about, not the captive ship's crew, not the wild women, not the mad scientists, not the guards. And there is a monster chained up under water to a reef in a stalactite cave. And a mad imprisoned sailor that quotes Poe is regularly drained of blood, which they seem to achieve by injecting his skull with a syringe. No one talks for long stretches of the movie, for no reason at all. And all of that is a movie. Somehow.

Say what you will about The Incredibly Strange Creatures Who Stopped Living And Became Mixed-Up Zombies, but at least that one had a plot!

Edit: Oh, and the bikini cave women are the descendants of crash-landed aliens. Don't know how I could forget to mention that.

Perhaps this isn't the time or place to bring up the fact that we typically have releases ready DAYS before they're released then. Just sitting on the server, un-RVR'd.
Any issues with the RiffTrax main page should be directed to support@rifftrax.com Attempts to engage with me directly about such matters will result in ridicule.
