Sooo, what did you think?  ;D

I feel the Rank a Riff thread is very useful in determining the quality of a rifftrax. So I ask users that have downloaded this Riff, please let your voice be heard by the poll and by the comments!

Five, it was mostly okay.  I guess I would have expected more poo-flinging jokes or perhaps jokes relating to Bobo on MST3K.  But, overall, the riff was just okay.  Would have more rather seen the Twilight riff this week.

Shenanigans! There's no five vote!

I also find these threads very useful, but I like it when people post why they voted the way they do, as there are some people whose scales basically start at 8, so it's helpful to know to ignore them ;P
FINE

:facepalm:  Sorry, I voted in my head without making a physical selection.

I gave it a 7.  A little on the rote side, tho not without some amazing one-liners. The awesome one-liners were just too far between each other that I can't give this an 8. I don't really plan on revisiting this one either (unless someone I'm with really wants to see it).

I understand the "not enough poo jokes" or whatever. There seemed to be some missed opportunities. For example, when dozens of apes are jumping out of several story high office windows, the riff pertains to how much broken glass there is instead of freaking apes jumping out of office windows!!! But then it's quickly followed by a helicopter leaving with reworked monkey escape lyrics to the theme of M*A*S*H*. So while there def are some fun moments such as that, it just seemed to not reach the heights of hilarity as much as I wished it did.

So, um... when's this Breaking Dawn riff coming out?  ;D
EDIT: Just noticed it'll be out next Thurs. Wooooo!

anyone get an immediate desync at the very first sync line even though things seemed in sync before then?

Or am I still stuck in the past using "primitive" tools like the riffplayer?

edit:
Bleh, I had to keep modifying the sync offset the whole movie.

File starts at: 0.966290000

Had to change it immediately to:
0.986290000

By the end of the movie:
0.9996400

edit2:
Thats because the offset needed to be > 1.0 and not < 1.0

Unfortunately changing the offset also changes what the riffdelay_init value needs to be as well.

here's what I ended up with which I consider "pretty close":

riffdelay_init=136.0000
riffstart=35.00
time_offset=1.00100

Makes you wonder what the point of giving a sync file is if its going to be off by this much

riffdelay_init=140.60000
riffstart=35.00
time_offset=0.966290000

Thrashalla

It was given because it worked on the systems that the file was written and tested on - both machines ran Win7 with different processors and different DVD drives. I don't just throw these out into the wild with random values.

But, seriously, thanks for posting your solution in case others experience issues.
Any issues with the RiffTrax main page should be directed to support@rifftrax.com Attempts to engage with me directly about such matters will result in ridicule.

blahnut

I thought the riff was very consistent.  Nothing crazy, but entertained from beginning to end. 7.
Rowsdower.

CJones

Well I quite liked it. Consistently good throughout. I gave it an 8.

Watchman

Gave it an 8. Probably my favorite Rifftrax in the last 6 months or so. The jokes were enjoyably offbeat & random. I really laughed at the equation of John Lithgow's Alzheimer's piano playing as "practicing his Radiohead". I don't know where the opening Moneyball jokes came from, but I laughed at their randomness. I thought the riffing started to peter out slightly during the action-filled third act, but as a whole I found it enjoyable & a refreshing break from these formulaic teen franchises they've been focusing on lately.

Danecho1967

I gave it an 8.  It was entertaining, but I never really laughed out loud.  I think I should have watched the movie unriffed first, so I'd have a better appreciation for the jokes.  Still, it didn't bowl me over.

The bar graph for the poll seems to be saying something to me, but I'm not sure what I did to earn it.

NRRork

I'll give it a solid 8.5. I laughed my ass off at this one.

It was also the first time I'd seen the movie, which to my surprise was not too bad. I heard it got pretty good reviews. It's got nothing on the original, but I think it was better than most, if not all of the sequels. And all four of the original sequels are a total guilty pleasure for me.
I used to have an image here, but Photobucket got cheap about remote linking. I guess I'll have to think of something witty instead. Which I will. Later. It caught me by surprise, in all honesty. It's hard to be clever on command, I mean, YOU try it. Be funny: NOW! See, tough. So, gimme a bit, 'kay?
