I learned its never a good idea to leave a guillotine in your attic
I learned HAM operators have magical computers to help them locate people down to the actual house. Plus they did this pre-GPS!
I learned I am still attracted to 80's women. (sigh)
I learned that women dubbed in random Euro accents are just as odd here as it was in Werewolf and Devil Fish
I learned that small rubber strips dont really look like maggots
I learned that a lye bath isn't fatal but merely annoying. At least I think it was a lye bath he was taking
I learned that Shelly Duval found work in a bad 80's horror movie and knows how to ride a Yamaha
Fodder's just this guy, you know.

Chimental

I learned that idiot kids walking through a haunted house just ain't the same without a talking great dane.

Prince of Space 5049

I leaned that abandoned houses routinely have unlocked entrance doors, running water, and electricity.

I learned that this movie is great. So great in fact, that it wouldn't be weird at all to pay $1,000 for a used copy.

I learned that in the 80s pudgy men who looked like the offspring of Anthony Michael Hall and Charlie Sheen make for terrible lead male actors.

I learned that chili is a critical food item to have.

I learned that Kelly LeBrock is more popular in Denver than Kim Bassinger.

Wait a minute, no I didn't. This movie left that issue unresolved. Damn you, movie!!
Oh bite me, it's fun!

I learned so much! Where to start?

- It was just 25 years ago that people thought that focusing on Ham Radio jargon and guys sitting behind a series of knobs would lead to a great horror movie.
- The characters from Pod People weren't the only ones who were interchangeable and generically unlikable when getting killed who hung out in an RV.
- Standing in front of a bus and yelling "aahhh!!!" beats moving the 4 feet that would have solved much of the problem.
- I learned...I know too much about Ham Radio that nitpicking a bad horror film is pretty petty. Then again, they wanted to use the motif.
- I had no idea who Kelly LeBrock was before this. I also learned 20 years ago that no one on Ham radio talked about this stuff. They talked about their antennas, their rigs, propagation conditions, and their wives being mad at them for sitting in their basements all the time.
I was a student at a small midwestern college....

Now, now. Let's be fair. The unlikeable characters in Troll 2 were also interchangeable and hung out in RVs.

And Ms. LeBrock in Weird Science.

I learned that you fix your car's faulty distributor by messing with the master-cylinder.

I learned that you should never crawl directly under a guillotine while in a ghost house.

I learned that everything sucks.
Oh bite me, it's fun!

I was thinking the same thing.

I learned that if I'm Jim Dalen, and I see some scary shit happening, I just stand there and call for help and scream, instead of like, walking away or something.  That's just the way Jim Dalen rolls...

Also ALWAYS trust walk signs completely, if the sign says walk DO NOT look to see if traffic is still coming...

That cheesy synth theme is stuck in my head!

I put the trash out earlier and sang the following to myself:

Trash...
Trash goes out...
The trash goes by the curb

AAAAHHHHH!!!
VIVA IL ESORDIO DEL DIABETE ADULTO DUCE!!!

Well, from now on while driving to work everyone needs to sing:

Drive
Drive to work
This is how I drive to work

Park
Parking lot
This is how I park in the parking lot

Walk
Walking in
Walking in to the building

Stairs
Climb the stairs
...

Hmmm, out of no where an army guy just told me this was silly and to get "on with it", how strange...

This is neither here nor there, but I've had the master and/or slave cylinder for my clutch fail five times. While driving. FIVE TIMES! (on three different cars). Do you know how much it sucks to be driving on the interstate and suddenly being unable to shift out of neutral? I do. One time I had to drift the car onto an exit ramp and into the grass, then walked across the highway to find a phone to call AAA. They towed the truck to a mechanic, and it was only after the tow truck had left that I learned the mechanic was closed due to fire damage. I then had to call a second tow truck to take it to a different mechanic...  :grr:

Oh, something I learned...

It's perfectly reasonable to walk into a house that's been abandoned for 20 years, that has cobwebs all over it, and think there's going to be edible food in a box.
