It'll be up a little later this afternoon.

Free sample is now online!

Alright, cool. I'm gonna go see Zodiac then. And then reauthor when I get home... in 3 hours. Its gonna be a long, long movie.

Heck yeah. 2:43, and that's with only two trailers in front of it.
"All I ask of you is one thing: please don't be cynical. I hate cynicism -- it's my least favorite quality and it doesn't lead anywhere.
Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard and you're kind, amazing things will happen."

QuoteIt tells you that the creepy women keep bees and sell the honey. It doesn't tell us why they do this or what significance this has to the plot.

So you are claiming this movie HAS a plot then?

I wonder if they colorize stuff based on our desires?
I think the biggest limitations come from getting the rights to movies. Thats why they have to use public domain movies. I think they do a great job colorizing. I'd be willing to shill out a little extra cash to see some higher quality movies colorized.

Plus I love the way they colorized the marijuana smoke in Reefer Madness

Thats why i am curious, with rifftrax obvious comercial success, they might have acess to better movies, as such do they use us as a sort of free polling?

macleod

Hmm...I dunno about "obvious commercial success," but I'm sure there are a few of us keeping this ship afloat...then again I'd LOVE to be wrong on that

sarcasm_made_Easy

there are two ways you can be wrong there, and only one of them do i like.

Well, it's more than just the fact that these are public domain films. There are many other factors. There are films that:

a): Are in need of a restoration, or
b): Could be made funny by a Mike Nelson commentary, and
c): Could be potentially profitable for Legend Films, or
d): Would look cool in color.

I happen to have a few titles I'd like to see Legend work on:

A Bucket of Blood: One of my top-ten favorite movies. LOVE to see Legend work on this one.

Dementia 13: One of my all-time favorite horror movies. This was Francis Ford Coppola's first mainstream effort (after a pair of sexploitation flicks), and it remains one of his best films. It has not been treated very well on DVD. I wouldn't mind seeing Legend colorize it, if they can find a print that looks almost as good as their print of The Little Shop of Horrors.

Bela Lugosi Meets a Brooklyn Gorilla: This is a stupid movie. But it's a funny movie. Plenty for Mike to work with in terms of a commentary track.

Maniac/Sex Madness: Dwain Esper was one of those directors that never got the mocking they deserved on MST3K. Esper makes Ed Wood look like Orson Welles in comparison. I'd suggest Maniac, since it's so incredibly bizarre, and makes even less sense than the fantasy sequences in Glen or Glenda? (Which Legend should also restore, colorize, and have Mike mock.)

(The 1936 film based on the legend of Sweeney Todd is also in the public domain - might make for a good way to cash in on Tim Burton's upcoming film version of the musical. Just something to consider.)

As far as non-cult movies go, I'd like to see some more Laurel & Hardy stuff. "The Flying Deuces" and "Utopia" are badly in need of a restoration. I think "The Flying Deuces" would also look nice in color.
This iRiff will only be on sale for another few hours. Get it while it's cheap!

Dirty Smelly Anteater

So, has anyone gone over the Wicker Man track with a fine tooth comb to see if there are any hints like there were in the Troll 2 track for Star Trek VI?

They made reference to both Lost and Pans Labyrinth, but I think that was just because the riffs made sense.   Then again......

then its probably not that one, although i figure bathtub is aware of which is next isnt he.

AmazingThor

It seems like they make Lost references in all the rifftrax. With its appearance in polls, I think Lost has secured a spot in the "When not if" category.
