Ok...ok..... I am going to interject here.  First regarding the fielding issues.  JP was incorrect when he said that the Flash encoder causes the interlace lines.  The 3:2 was always in the movie because we never removed it, our bad.  Flash just does not render the 3:2 correctly and thous we need to to an inverse teleciene.  Riva encoder does have a deinterlacer but it is less then perfect and works on some videos and not others.  The correct way to handle this is not deinterlacing but to perform a true inverse telecine.  This can be done with After Effects very well.  Deinterlacing can meen different things, 1) field doubling 2) Field Blending 3) Motion Estimation Reconstruction or 4) true inverse telecine where you remove the 3:2 pulldown.  So I removed the 3:2 and am currently re-uploading the video files.  There where a couple videos (Star  Wars) that did not have a proper 3:2 and I had to use a more rude form of deinterlacing.  To do a true 3:2 removal I need to go back to the original source and because I am VERY busy right now, we will make that correction at a later time so do not bother telling me how bad it looks I already know.

Now regarding the stretched look you mentioned Gammer.  Can you please tell me which movie(s) look stretched to you?  I rendered all the movies in there original 16:9 aspect ratio, except Nestor which is a 4:3 source.

Thanks,

-Uncle Rufus

The Official Arm Wrestling Table!  Awesome!
I actually owned that.  It may still be in the basement somewhere.  A plastic table with plastic "pads."  When one guy's arm presses down on the pad, it makes this really annoying "BEEEEEEEP" sound.  Indeed, it was magnificently terrible.
Most wanted: 1. The Wizard (1989) 2. Karate Kid III (1989) 3. Rocky IV (1985) 4. Rocky V (1990) 5. Masters of the Universe (1987) 6. Mortal Kombat: Annihilation (1997) 7. No Holds Barred (1989) 8. Total Recall (1990) 09. Garbage Pail Kids (1987) 10. The Running Man (1987)

Does anyone remember there used to be an arm wrestling co-op game back in the earlier 90's? I remember that it got removed from my mall because it actually broke a kid's arm!

Yeah, though I find it strange that was even feasable...

I'm dead serious...I don't know how it happened, but there was an article in the paper and everything

Not doubting you, just my own tenuous grip on reality....

I still laugh thinking about how some kid had to explain how he got his ass handed to him by a coin-op video game ;D

Would've been worse if he'd been eligible for a Darwin award, posthumously, of course....

"Ever want to play a game that can break your arm? Well, here's your chance. 1992's Arm Champs 2 features a mechanical arm that can arm wrestle with a player at the drop of a quarter. Unfortunately the game could be configured to unleash the ultimate power of machines and break players' arms in mere seconds, snapping bones into pieces. In China, for example, one store that offered the game as a diversion reported over a dozen injuries in the first few months the game was available."
