Lion King 2 was pretty shitty. It had Andy Dick in it and they had interbreeding. All in the same movie.  :speechless:
Global warming, where?

direct to video sequels are more dignified than TV series.
also, what the hell was wrong with Bambi 2?  ...the only Disney sequel I've ever seen by the way

I can tell by your posts that you're a very intelligent person, so know in your heart of hearts that I'm -not- patronizing you here (I have high respect for everyone on this board).....BUT...

   Okay...Bambi 2....Say it slow....Bambi 2....Baaaammmbbbiiii tttwwwooo......

That's what's wrong with it. Same applies to Snow White 2, Sleeping Beauty 2...ect ect.. Say it all slow.

okay fine but something like the Aladdin tv series seems to take away more from the original in my opinion, also you should see Bambi 2 its a nice little tale about how a widowed father struggles with raising a child its a short film and wont take you very long to watch
...then again all of us are way to old to know how well received these movies really are, maybe it would help if someone on the board with kids can comment on the new Disney?

The problem with Bambi 2 is that everyone who worked on Bambi 1 had nothing to do with it. Maybe it's just 'cuz I'm a writer, but I find it unsettling that someone can create a time honored classic, pass on, and years later someone else gets to make a direct to video sequel. It doesn't sit right with me. I'm OK with the direct-to-DVD sequels of newer Disney movies, because the people involved in the movie get to stay involved with the show. Seeing the words "Bambi 2" is much like seeing the words, "Ben Hur 2: Back for Blood." :^)

No, the problem with Bambi 2 is that Disney did the same thing to it that was done to Gone With the Wind. IT DID NOT NEED A SEQUEL.

However loosely based the film was on Salten's novel, the fact remains that adding anything to the story is pointless because the original movie tied everything up and entire generations of people have accepted this and moved on in appreciation of the original work. Disney releasing modern sequels to some extremely classy and beautiful work is unnecesary and can only be seen for the money-making scheme it is.

In the name of the classics, I think this is highly offensive.

HERE HERE!!

couldnt agree more.

The way i see it, is if bambi 2 had such a good story, you could have changed the names given us new charectars and a new setting and it would have been just fine, calling bambi 2 is just a way to make money off of something that already exists, thus making it cheaper and more profitable.  I think that is offensive.
