Et Tu, 3-D? What was once a fairly harmless novelty now seems to have taken over multiplexes across the country. Flying houses, animated dragons, Ga'hool Owls and unleashed Krakens are spilling off the screen, fatiguing our eyes and migraining our headaches. Waaaay back in 1983, audiences experienced a whole new kind of headache with the third installment in the should-never-have-been-a-franchise Jaws film series, in which a baby shark and its pissed-off momma spend more than one afternoon in SeaWorld and thus start eating people (I think we can all relate). If the effects department can't stop them (and they try), then Dennis "Crap...I'm in this?" Quaid, Lea "Thank goodness Back to the Future is just around the corner" Thompson, and Louis "I JUST won an Oscar and chose to do this next" Gossett, Jr. will. And, yes, it's all in eye-poppin' THHHHHREEEEEEE DDDDDDDDDDDDDDD! Except...that it's not. Not on your home DVD. But shhhhhhhhhh...it still thinks it is!

Waiting 'til it's safe to go back in the water are frequent RiffTrax Presenters Cole Stratton and Janet Varney, who are going to need a much bigger boat to get through this not-so-great-great-white-flick that makes them long for the days of shirtless Patrick Swayze and dancin' Kevin Bacon.

Grrr.... something is messing up in my mix-down. (actually it's in the "put back together onto dvd" part.) This might take me a bit... I was all excited to watch it too!!
...and there he was, reigning supreme at number two.  The One... The Only... The Unabeefer.

What a coincidence! This is my second favorite Simon McCorkindale movie of all time! After... Death on the Nile, actually
it's a pretty damn distant second to Death on the Nile for me.

I was wondering why this movie was not on blu-ray and after watching it, I think I know why.   Besides being a bad Jaws movie, the visuals on this movie were HORRIBLE.   It was blurry about half the time and washed out looking the other half.   I guess that was because it was shot in 3D and the DVD was not in 3D.   But man, it was PAINFUL to watch.

So is it a good riff?

Personally, I think it's their best! (And I love their previous work. It just knocked out Footloose from the top position)
FINE

This is a fantastic Riff! The movie is bad enough to be on the MST3K level of awful (particularly the "special effects" and the endless waterskiing) and the riffs are hilarious. I always love Janet & Cole's riffs but this one is one of their best!

New to Janet and Cole- must say it was a very good riff! I'll be sure to watch more of their stuff! 8)
