I'm looking more for one that discusses the art form than just reviewing this weeks books or reading the news.  Any suggestions?

Have you tried the Comic Vine one? I haven't heard it before, but their site's pretty neat:

Comics on comics.  It's also a radio show.  Some friends of mine, who are VERY funny comics are on there.  However, be warned, they don't ALWAYS talk about comics.  They also talk about TV and movies, but geek stuff in general.

Well, I checked out both shows, and while Comics on Comics is fine and has very good hosts (Comics Vine wasn't bad but I felt I was on a very different wavelength with the hosts), it wasn't exactly what I was looking for (especially since there seemed to be a lot of videocasts, and I just wanted listening), and since I'm listening to a lot of podcasts at work these days, I'm looking for a comic book podcast that isn't really that interested in reviews (at least not recent ones.  If it's reviews of older or takes a look at classics, that's fine) or interviews (the occasional one is OK) and doesn't dip heavily into news necessarily, but simply talks about the medium in relation to themes or capabilities.

I guess the best way to describe the kind of thing I'm looking for is something similar to either Battleship Pretension (a great podcast about movies that discusses a different topic in relationship to movies each week) or the Paul Goebel Show (which has comedians talking about TV and similar topics).

Maybe I'm asking to much, but I kind of want to find something that's a little more than "this is what happened this week in comics" and will dive into both the old and new in discussing the medium.

Er... any ideas?

I listen to a shitload of podcasts as well - basically all day at work - what's on your playlist?

Battleship Pretension (A show where each episode discusses a different movie podcasts.  Occasional guest spots from LA comedians and other people involved with film.  Every 10th episode features a profile of a filmmaker/actor/someone in film.  I don't always agree with them, but they are very smart and likable).

Comedy Death Ray: Scott Auckerman's (Mr. Show) comedy podcast, usually features him talking with a couple comedians with other guests (characters played by comedians).  A fun mix of improv and shooting the shit.  Paul F Tompkins is great whenever he shows up (especially as the Cake Boss.)

Documentaries (BBC radio docs.  Usually 23 minutes each.  Some are interesting political stuff, but I always find the science stuff the most facsinating)

Doug Loves Movies (LA comedian Doug Benson talks with a panel of 3 other comedians and usually spends about half the show playing the Leonard Maltin game, that he, Brian Posehn and Sarah Silverman made up with they were just starting out.  Basically, it's just going through the Leonard Maltin guide and trying to guess the movie by starting with the lowest billed person and working your way up).

The Paul Goebel Show (Comedian Paul Goebel, the TV Geek from Beat the Geeks, hosts a show with his friends where he discusses television and whatever the conversation digresses to).

XO (A sometimes diary/sometimes documentary by a friend of mine who lives in Toronto now.  I like the show and he's a nice guy, but you might not find it interesting if you don't know him.  Even he sort of admits that, though he has gotten an audience, who found him through a popular New York podcasts called Keith and the Girl that I've never listened too).
