I rented this for the rifftrax and sat down and watched it on sunday, I thought for the most part it was alright, there seemed to be a 9 month hole in the middle, but other than that. It's the fact that it's a bad adaptation of an existing show. If it had been released under another name with nothing to do with Aeon Flux it probably would have done better.

Nunyerbiz

I've never seen this movie, which isn't surprising seeing I had no idea it existed until it was announced as a Rifftrax.

That said, any movie feature Charlize Theron in tight clothing is a movie I automatically kind of like.

shes not ONLY wearing tight clothes, she is wearing almost no clothes ;)

I thought it was ok too.  I would say, "Oh my god, I LOVE AEON Flux!  I can't believe I get to watch it again." but it was ok.  It's a mindless, generic sci-fi.  What else can you say?

As for the write-up, I kinda of agree.  Maybe Mike has watched one too many bad movies.  I guess they can't all be gems.

BTW, what's with Mike in the suit on the homepage? I fully expected him to be in the Theron, leather getup welcoming me to rifftrax.  I'm highly disappointed ;)
mike5150 how tall are you?.....in gallons?

Pak-Man

I thank the mods again for their choice not to create truly disturbing imagery to promote this one.

I watched half of this movie last night. It's not bad. It's got an interesting plot and cool special effects. It's also one of the strangest movies I've ever seen (And I SEEK OUT strange!) and I think we're in for a real treat when it gets riffed. :^)

dignan

Disembaudio sure does look smitten with Charlize on the main page there.

sarcasm_made_Easy

ill bet thatll be a running gag in the movie

stirrell

According to IMDB, the movie actually grossed over 12 million on its opening weekend.

I actually liked this movie, I have to admit. It was a little incoherent but visually very cool. I definitely wouldn't say it is an embarrassment or anything.

Pak-Man, I think the strangest movie I have ever seen is the Monkees' movie, Head. Very weird - it is a cool period piece. Very 60s with cameos by Frank Zappa and Jack Nicholson among others.

Did Kevin do the write up for this one?

It doesn't sound like Mikes writing.

I closed my eyes and hit random keys and the copy that you see is the result of said process =)

Kind of like the "million monkeys" think?
Are we talking about the write up or the movie? :rimshot:

I am about to lose any respect any of you have for me on this board, but I actually enjoyed this movie. It isn't any good, mind, but I did laugh the whole way through it. This is a Rifftrax that I really hope works, but I fear it may be another fifth element for me.

I do think this movie should have been called "Jumping: The Motion Picture" though.

I kinda liked this one, as well.  In ways, it reminded me a great deal of Logan's Run.  Have to admit, though, it should make a great Rifftrax.

I'm wondering if we'll get any "Mr. F" references...

dignan

"Mr. F" was my favorite role Charlize has had to date.
