I don't get the reaction here--how is this worse than Twilight?

Agreed.

Double Agreed.

To back up TheUnabeefer, it's worse because it's a musical. Musicals can be a lot worse than a typical movie for multiple reasons.

For place that is dedicated for making fun of bad movies, some people here see to have a very low tolerance for watching them.  This reminds me of when people freaked out over Cocktail that turned out to be a great riff.
Triple agreed (or is this quadruple?)... because some people act like they've never seen a bad movie before.   ::)

And they've riffed at least one musical before.

To the person who asked earlier:

The proper edition is the Encore Edition.
http://www.amazon.com/High-School-Musical-Encore-Efron/dp/B000F2BNW2/ref=sr_1_1?s=dvd&ie=UTF8&qid=1284755175&sr=1-1

will the netflix edition work for this guy?

The Netflix copy is, specifically, the one we used. It says "Encore Edition" very clearly on the sleeve.
Any issues with the RiffTrax main page should be directed to support@rifftrax.com Attempts to engage with me directly about such matters will result in ridicule.

That's one of the purposes of Rifftrax. It makes unwatchable movies watchable. I, for one, am horrified and amused and looking forward to seeing how they riff a bad musical. Can't wait!

I just don't want to be the one seen renting it.  ;D

Just pay some kid ten bucks to score you a copy. I mean, that's how teenagers score beer. It should work in reverse, too.
I used to have an image here, but Photobucket got cheap about remote linking. I guess I'll have to think of something witty instead. Which I will. Later. It caught me by surprise, in all honesty. It's hard to be clever on command, I mean, YOU try it. Be funny: NOW! See, tough. So, gimme a bit, 'kay?

I can't be the only one who enjoys the hell out of seeing overly earnest performances ripped to shreds by M, K and B. Moments like those often bring me to tears. And a musical (this musical, in particular) has the zenith of overly earnest performances. This really has the potential to be truly hysterical, IMHO.

Plus, I've seen some of the stuff you guys wear at comic-con...renting this movie is the least of your worries. ZING! :P

Well, there you go. Just wear your Comic-con costume when you go rent the movie. Then it'll just seem like some goofy thing you did for laughs.

Y'all may wanna go to the Pirate Bay for this one, though. (For the movie, not the Rifftrax!) I hear Netflix puts you on a special list if you're an adult and you order this movie.

If they DON'T already do that, they should.

Like a list of adults who have teen or preteen children?

I think mistaken pedophilia jokes really only work if there's clear evidence you're doing child things without children around.  Such as playing at the playground of an elementary school that you loved as a child because it's this cool complex wooden structure and it's a public park anyway so why are all those people looking at me?  I mean you.

Of COURSE it will kill my "Amazon.com suggests"

You can edit those...

There are two ways to exclude an item you've purchased or rated from being used in making recommendations for you:

Click the "Improve Your Recommendations" link below the tabs in the Recommended for You area. Locate the items you wish to exclude in the list of "Items I own," and check the "This was a gift" or the "Don't use for recommendations" option
From the "Why was I recommended this" list, check the "This was a gift" or the "Don't use for recommendations" option for those recommendation reasons you wish to exclude from being used to make future recommendations.

I'm glad to have found that after I accidentially clicked a link to Glenn Beck's "The Overton Window".

Netflix doesn't say anything about Extended Edition, but the Amazon specs and the Netflix specs both say 98 minutes.

We'll see.
Yeah ... :-[

Actually I typed that before Thrash said they used the one from Netflix. I guess the sleeve that the disc comes in says Extended Edition, I just don't know why they would include that on their product page. But if Thrash says the Netflix one works then I'm on board. It's already in my queue.

I missed the game! I can't believe I missed the game!  :(

But this sounds like a CLASSIC RiffTrax. Can't wait.

Same here.  My first day off in over a week, and I got sidetracked by playing Mega Man 3 (I could not beat Snake Man for some reason).

Eee, this is going to be SO bad and so good!  I can handle anything as long as they're mocking it.

Halifirien

Awesome choice. My niece made me watch this a time or two, so I'll be glad for the revenge.
