Was this movie actually released to theaters? I mean, seriously? I vaguely remember the cartoon on MTV or whatever (sorry, animated series)... but they made a freakin movie? I can only imagine it's release and subsequent failure occured while I was out of the country on vacation or something.

Yep. It got a theater release. I remember seeing TV ads for it and a friend of mine tried to bribe me with tickets to see it, in exchange for helping him move. Thankfully, he and his wife ended up bribing me with dinner instead.

Anyway, the reviews were horrible and the word of mouth was worse, so it dropped like a stone after the first week of release. (And it came out around the same time as a Harry Potter film and Narnia, so there were other films taking the limelight away from Aeon Flux's bombing.)

I am about to lose any respect any of you have for me on this board, but I actually enjoyed this movie. It isn't any good, mind, but I did laugh the whole way through it. This is a Rifftrax that I really hope works, but I fear it may be another fifth element for me.

I do think this movie should have been called "Jumping: The Motion Picture" though.
