QuoteBy throwing out terms like "medically accurate", it feels like a pathetic attempt to put this film and yourself in the first class section of the ship sipping a glass of champagne, when both you and the film clearly belong down in the third class cabins boozing it up on low grade whiskey with its target audience.

Still not going to see this (I don't mind gore, but this is just too disturbing for me), but I have to disagree with the quote here.  I think the 100% medically accurate thing puts it more in line with the old horror film advertising like "You must sign a waiver before seeing this film" or "No one will be admitted after the film has begun!"  Maybe that's just me.  Again, I hate to judge a book by its cover, but this movie is horrible and I hate it forever and ever.

Actually, I think that tagline is used because the surgeon the filmmaker's used as a consultant theorized a way that the centipede would actually work in real life. From wiki:

QuoteWhilst The Human Centipede (First Sequence) shows very little of the actual surgical procedure and, considering its subject matter, is relatively tame, throughout the production process Tom Six stated that his intention was to create a film that was 100% medically accurate, consulting a Dutch surgeon during the creation and filming process. Six claimed that while initially reluctant to take part in the film due to both concerns about professional reputation and feelings that the film had nothing to do with medical science, after reading the script the surgeon took a very strong interest in the procedure, and went on to devise a method that he believed would work in real life. Six claims that by using an IV drip to supplement the diet of the middle and back parts, the centipede would be able to survive for a very long time.

(who even freaks out when someone spills a glass of water in his living room)
It wasn't the spilled water he was freaking about. It was the fact that it ruined his plan of drugging people with the water.

Good point. Though since he has a good backup for the drugging, I'd say he's still at least a bit of a neat freak.

Yeah, the director said in another interview that even he was a little disturbed by how much the surgeon got into it...

Geez, first crazy German surgeons, now the Dutch...where does it end?  WHERE DOES THE MADNESS END?!?    :speechless:

Actually, a thought occurred to me today...considering all the scatological stuff that apparently happens in the film, I'm wondering if this could possibly be adapted from the original, horrifying first draft of "The Poop That Took a Pee" by Leopold Stotch (and read by Morgan Freeman).  It would certainly explain why that guy blew away the Kardashian sisters after reading it.   ;D
One Man Band Riffs.  18 riffs, over 600 served, since 2009.

DVD/ Blu-Ray available October 5. I shall hold my breath for a riffing.

And then I will pass out due to lack of oxygen and begin breathing again as I'm pretty sure that this is on the "Not a chance in hell" list.

FINALLY! I can replace the odd ratio copy that I downloaded.

Just saw on Netflix instant streaming and I want those 90 minutes back.

What was the point of the whole movie?    Who cares, just worthless.

And those had to be the most incompetent police outside of a Keystone Cops movie.

Russell

I think "The Human Spider" is going to be a much better film.  ;D

Watchman

Not like this movie needs more publicity but, fuck, I just came across a disturbing toy:

God, that's far more disturbing than the actual movie.

LOVED the sequel!!
I presume that's due to how medically accurate it is right? Because to me it looked like another pathetic reason for pointless gore and stepping on babies for little more then shock value.

God help me, I revived an old topic that should've stayed dead.  :-[

But I guess now's the time to get my say in if I'm going to get a say on these Subhuman Centipede artifacts.

Roger Ebert: Will you never learn? You've written highly publicized reviews on your most despised movies for over 3 decades. When you tell millions of readers to stay away, you attract millions of curious potential viewers. You're a large part of why people even remember allegedly "vile" films like Silent Night Deadly Night, I Spit On Your Grave, Freddy Got Fingered and The Human Centipede movies. Your "worst movie of the year" video attracts mainstream viewers to what could have been limited to a phenomenon on the cult/festival circuit. http://www.ebertpresents.com/episodes/episode-224/videos/370#ooid=k1eDY3MzrdU6O7T5rjGiykSpIOIr6YLz&ootime=03m19s (His critique begins at 3:19)
So good job on the free publicity, Rogs. It's one thing to trash Deuce Bigalow, there's nothing dark or taboo about Rob Schneider's sparkly handling of bodily functions. But move that blood, shit & degradation into a darker setting & you're enticing people into "the forbidden". Woooooooooohhhh.

Monster-A-Go-Go has more integrity than the Subhuman Centipede: Mule Sequins.

There is no centipede. Victims were found fully free of stitches & of shit-free digestive tracts.
