just caught some things i didnt catch the first time through,

1.  when the guide brought up the philisophical blockbusters they had the following symbols on the front

where god went wrong: symbol for female
some more of gods greatest mistakes: symbol for male.

Just thought that was hilarious and never caught it.  too much too fast ya know.

I think that was one of the crucial things they got right.  They managed to update the guide's look, while keeping the wacky spirit of the thing.  I love the bit where the guide is explaining the babel fish and it shows a farmer with his hand up a cow's bum.  The cow mows but the symbol of a heart appears, and the reaction of the farmer is priceless.

I loved the trailer for this movie, had no intrest in it until the trailer came up during Sin City, the hitchhickergalaxy movie was good but it felt a bit more for the younger crowd (hopefully I'm not insulting anyone with that)

Raven

I own the BBC miniseries version and I loved all of the books.  I thought the movie did a really good job at the transition.  I thought Mos Def was absolutely hilarious.  One of my favorites from that year.

ScottotD

Loved the movie, not at all like the series, radio show or books but fun and slightly insane on it's own.

Yeah, Mos Def was surprisingly good. My favourite bit's still this exchange:

"Ford?"
"What?"
"I think I'm a sofa."
"Aaaaaargh!"

andrew any particular REASON it was awful?

I thought it was great.  As to it not being like the books, well even in adams own Forewards he makes mention to the fact that there is no continuity between, radio, game, or books.  In fact in his own story it seems a lack of continuity is what he WANTS, he helped write the script so we can assume that it was mostly what he intended.

...

The HG2G has gone through so many incarnations over the years. Personally, i like the old radio plays... although, i'm partial to those since i produce and direct my own radio plays. Anyway, the newest film version is far from horrible and has kinda' grown on me over time. When i first saw it, i thought it had kind of a Gilliam feel to it.

yeah it was hard to take the first time i think, but the more i watch it the more i laugh at it.  Besides i totally geeked out when we got to see vogisphere.  That place was HILARIOUS.  the natural creatures there insure you dont have any independant thought, or any thought at all, no wonder they are beaurocratic.

Blueguy

I really enjoyed it the first time through.  Although I never read the book or anything beforehand to set my expectations.  It's wondefully twisted, just the way I like it.

Pak-Man

Heck, even his BOOKS don't always seem to stay in continuity with eachother. :^)

This is one of those movies that makes me feel incredibly happy inside and out. I love it and love watching it.

The POV gun is remarkably brilliant too.
Hehe. What's the line, "It won't work on me. I'm already a woman." :^)

sarcasm_made_Easy

its a funny line, but of course silly ;) ive met plenty of women without empathy.
