uploaded a new version:
- fixed reverse not working
- fixed "play" and "pause" button not being updated when using pause on the top title bar
- added menu item "title menu" under Mp3 / Movie Controls

As for having the mp3 no longer pausing when you pause the movie - this was actually the "auto-stutter" being enabled when it shouldn't had (try it, turn it on then simulate stuttering by pausing the movie momentarily). To pause the movie and mp3 at the same time, use the "pause" on the menu at the top.

I cant control the play speed because this was written with directx. The Stutter detection that was always on did check the sync times. THe problem with that is that windows media player reports the current position of the DVD incorrectly from time to time (like saying only half a second went by when a whole second did). The underlying issue with desyncing after its already synced up is that the mp3's themselves are incorrect from time to time (and it extraplotes the error). Simply go through the readme's and you can see the rifftrax slowly gain a few seconds over the movie at a non-linear rate (or 10 seconds in the case of star trek V).

When it came to saving the offset, I'm actually taking an average over 3 seconds to get that offset. I could make an offset vector based on the readme file that would periodically update the mp3's offset by a tiny amount, but that carries the risk of ruining the joke with a slight stutter (by tiny amount, I mean like .1 seconds every couple of minutes or so), or even desyncing the movie / mp3 when it was already in sync. I'm going to try this out on the next riff trax (that britany spears movie) and see if it improves the experience.

wierd, cant even connect to www.ez-files.net. Not sure why, just says 'looking up hostname' and then brings up an error. Is it anywhere else? like rapidshare?

Wow! This is sounding great. I'll download and try this when Crossroads comes out, probably. Keep up the good work!
FINE

This looks really promising.  Does the readme thing work with PAL DVD's?

I have a feeling that we'll all be using this before long.

If those bugs have been fixed then that's great.  Don't have time to try it out now, but I will around 7.

Wierd, the link works fine today. Gonna try it out heh

Variety of Cells

Works really well now.  The inching buttons work great, and thanks for including a title menu button.  The only thing that needs work is the drifting but that can be forgiven.  Thanks again, i'll be using this a lot.

Could you help me i try to run it and it comes up with an error saying:

What version of windows are you using tooplex? I cant garantee it'll work on anything but windows XP, although I'm pretty sure it'll work on windows 2000 if you have .NET 2.0 installed. It might not work on windows 2000 though (if someone has gotten it to, then please post). Also note that the .DLL files it comes with must be in the same directory as the program when it is run.

Download .NET 2.0 here:

Has anyone else seen this? I can confirm that this is a problem with the file as well. I attempted to somehow fix the issue, thinking maybe it was because of the version of DVD or RiffTrax I had) - I even downloaded the PAL version of the Trax. I used Audacity to synch up the two audio files to the millisecond, but even within the first Disembaudio quote, you could see one was a slightly different speed than the other.

I know the Big Admins were going to look into this for us but I haven't seen anything else in the ST:V forum regarding the drift issue. Just curious because the stuff I've heard is downright hilarious and I'd really like to see it sync'd up properly (and with video!)

EDIT: I'm going to try again using Sharecrow - now that I have a working version of the DVD (even if it is PAL). Hopefully that should cure my Rifftrax withdrawal!

That'll do it.  They have a strategy that works well, dealing with slowing down the mp3.  And I know FBX is working on one too.
