I'm struck by the diversity of these lists. It's not at all like, say, the toy list which had a lot more overlap. It's cool that each person has their own group of unique targets they want to see ripped apart!

It did? Weren't there like, 8 lists for that and almost everything made the countdown?
I know you are but what am I

That's true. It guess it just seemed like more of the same showed up on the majority of the lists, but I could just be misremembering.

I'm kind of surprised that the next movie we announce didn't make the list.  Thought for sure it would be a high choice for a few people.

Terminator Salvation? Made MY list.. as did Return of the Jedi. submitted my list before the 20Qs for that one.

So so far I've got 2 from list and it is only February.

Godzilla? I'm kind of baffled. Not that it's good (I haven't actually seen it), but I didn't realize it was "popular" enough to make #1.

It is a hyper annoying failure.  Check out the review on "That Guy With the Glasses".  He sums it up really well.

And the whole Godzilla vs Megalon thing and not allowing footage to be used in the Sci-Fi Channel Oscar show might have weighed into this with some of us, to be honest.

Maybe that's a reflection on how few people saw it?

First, many thanks to GregMcduck for doing all the work on this.  Kudos, for a job well done!

I'm with Imrahil, there's no guarantee that the guys will finish any series (with the possible exception of Twilight).  Take Spider-Man: Mike apparently didn't think it was worth it to contribute to the second one.  There's no indication at all that they'll finish all the series they started... they're just picking "riffable" films, period.  [And please recall that one of the three said that Potter films are difficult because along with the obligatory 'Satan' jokes, they think that it gets pretty repetetive.]  Personally, I wouldn't hold my breath for X3 (which is a Good Thing in my book, because it would mean I'd have to watch it again).

Another thing for me was to include more films that I already owned, rather than films I'd have to go out and buy.  That's partly because if I thought the films were worth repeated viewings, I already have them.  And I'd rather have RiffTrax that are more likely to be re-watched, which happens more with films that I at least somewhat enjoy in the first place.  For many of those already done where I sort-of liked the film I've watched the film-plus-RiffTrax about five times so far, for films I was less fond of, maybe 2-3, for films I actively disliked, 1 at most. [The most notable exception to this rule was Twilight, where I only watched it the first time - when it first came out on DVD - having heard nothing about it except that it was a vampire movie, and I would never have watched it a second time without the RiffTrax, but it is one of my two all-time-favorite RiffTrax, and I've seen it with the RiffTrax 6 times so far, still laughing out loud.]

For me, there were also a larger number of films that I really like (as in 'LucasM Favorite Films'), basically going for more RiffTrax Challange-style riffs (like Casablanca was).  Probably yet another reason why so few of my films made it onto the final list here.  :)

At any rate... here's my list, actually surprised that five of my choices made the list at all.

1.  Abyss, The   (Special Edition)
2.  Fantastic Voyage (Raquel Welch)
3.  Citizen Kane  [#16 on the final list]
4.  The Core
5.  Clash of the Titans (Harryhausen)
6.  Alien Resurrection
7.  Mysterious Island (Harryhausen)
8.  Blade
9.  I, Robot  [#30 on the final list]
10.  Andromeda Strain
11.  2001: A Space Odyssey
12.  One Million Years BC (Harryhausen)
13.  Aliens  [#35 on the final list]
14.  Harry Potter [4] and the Goblet of Fire  [#4 on the final list]
15.  Lord of the Rings: Return of the King  [#33 on the final list]
16.  Little Mermaid (Disney)
17.  Seventh Voyage of Sinbad (Harryhausen)
18.  Pirates of the Caribbean [2] - Dead Man's Chest
19.  Harry Potter [5] and the Order of the Phoenix
20.  The Lion King (Disney)
21.  Total Recall
22.  King Kong  (original)
23.  Harry Potter [6] and the Half-Blood Prince
24.  Aladdin (Disney)
25.  Pirates of the Caribbean [3] - At World's End

With how much I like Harryhausen (I did model animation as a teen from what I learned of what he did), I'd be ecstatic if they ever did one of his flicks.  Because, lets face it: even though the guy was a genius, some (most?) of his films are intensely riffable.  Heck, maybe I'll do one someday... after all, I started spontaneously riffing It Came From Beneath the Sea the last time I put it on.

Wow Duck, that's a pretty interesting list. Very 'off-the-grid.'

Yeah, that's why I usually don't send in lists...

Normally, I would have gone for Showgirls as well.  Would have been high up there.  But they've said so many times that they'll never riff it that I've come to believe them.

Shame though....

Unfortunately, I have to agree with you there.  They may look at the lists, but they're probably not gonna let the opinions of 24 people decide what Rifftrax they produce.

It is still fun to make the wish lists and hope they might someday come true.

Sure, but the attitude of the guy I was responding to was like "well you guys WASTED your votes on movies they're going to do anyway!!!"

well ya i dont think they are gonna really affect anything but since it is a wish list i can wish it would affect something right(and connor asking if claw was in PD did get me a bit excited)?  not saying it was a waste just think its kinda fun to think of wacky ones like showgirls that will probably never be done no matter how many people demand it cause its interesting to even consider the possibility, or uncovering that film that may have slipped by many peoples radars as a great film to riff.

the plus for everyone who voted for harry potter is you will probably not have to live in a world of unfulfilled hopes and dreams like i do :)

great job on the list greg!
