Apologies on behalf of The Bronx

Mr. Mochulsky

New here, pleasantries, etc., etc.

I surely did enjoy last night's riffs, and I indeed had a laugh, possibly all the way up to and including a laugh and a half.  Unfortunately, nobody else in the theater shared my enthusiasm.  Not a one.

See, I was the only person in the theater.  The sole one.  Zero exaggeration.  In a borough of over a million people, I was the one person that showed up.  I would have taken pictures, but visions of being tackled by the anti-piracy Gestapo froze me in my tracks.  It was surreal—and in a way, sort of nice.  It was like watching from the comfort of a very large living room with a distinctly awful floor plan (no conversation nook?).

And so, to the universe, I apologize on behalf of the million plus jerks in this craphole.  When the doomsday comet strikes, etc.

Wow. I would've been so uncomfortable. Maybe you smell and everybody went to College Point to avoid you.  ;)

That sucks. Union Square was pretty packed.

A friend and his wife were gonna go (the Bronx), but didn't. They went to the last one (big fans), and I hear that wasn't all that well-attended either, but I'm surprised you were the ONLY person.

Wow....and I thought being one of two people at a showing of Mystery Science Theater 3000:The Movie on it's original release was bad.

You sure there wasn't a call to "LEAVE THE BRONX!!!"   ;)

Mr. Mochulsky

I was at the last event as well, and yes, that was rather poorly attended (if I had to guess... fifteen people).  I was half tempted to go to the encore tonight just to see if I'd be the only one again, but I figured that's just gilding the lily.  Part of me wants to say it's the cold keeping people at bay, while the rational part of me says nuking the site from orbit is the best course of action.

Why oh why don't I live in an actual borough.

I think it's just a promotional issue. No TV commercials, radio ads, or even posters at most theaters. At this point RiffTrax is still mostly a word-of-mouth thing. Maybe once they get a few more under their belts we'll see some fancier shows with bigger budgets and actual promotion.

Pak-Man

I'd actually seen the ads playing on the monitors that are looping ads over the concession stands. That had to catch SOME people's attention...

I'd get up every few minutes and move to a different seat, just for the hell of it.

ShadowDog

"Did she just say Chipping?"

I did my best to give the Bronx a withering look of disapproval while I drove through it this morning, but I doubt the Bronx noticed, as most of my fellow motorists appeared to be wearing the same expression.

YOU ARE ORDERED TO LEAVE THE BRONX.
