Just something I've been wondering... has rifftrax been meeting your expectations with # of purchases?

Way more than expected? Less? Has it been gaining popularity with each release? Any graphs you wanna share? Maybe a pie chart?

I only ask as someone who would like to see Mike keep doing this for a loooong time.

Well, this has been brought up before, and really, I don't know any business people (incudling myself) that like to talk specifically, or directly, about the business with customers.  But, if forum membership is any indication, they seem to be growing every day.  So, that's a good sign.

There are about 500 members here and about 1000 votes on the rifftrax page (I sometimes vote twice, myself, when it allows).

Based on these numbers, I'd either a) fire Mike's fucking ass for not being anywhere near as popular as he'd led on or b) promote it a bit more.

Well, remember, the number of customers that DON'T join the forums is high, (based on online games, anyway).  Usually it's about 3 to 1, for every forum member there are usually 3 non-forum-joining customers.  But, it may be moot in this case, I don't know.  All I know is, I am buying everything my wife will let me, (whipped), to help support Mike and Legend, and I suggest everybody else do the same.  That includes the autographed DVD's.

It's been sort of half and half for me, I've LOVED Star Trek, NotLD and Roadhouse but was a bit let down by Cocktail, Fifth Element and XXX.

Well I didn't mean to sound like I was asking for hard numbers. That's none of my business (though I do love pie charts)

No I was just looking for more of a Roger Ebert style verdict on success so far. Which way is the thumb pointing? And has it been getting more popular over time?

I'd say it has to be going well... considering that the overhead is pretty darn low for the project.

Mike's salary and the bandwidth to push the files out would seem to be the top expenses...

Everything else is just icing..

Yup.  Low overhead is The Key.

I was talking to my wife about Mike Nelson the other day, and as her eyes glazed over and she contemplated divorce options, I says to her I says, "Lynn, Mike is just a great comedic actor and writer and I think he should be making more money.  He's one of our greatest underrated treasures."

And then she says to me she says, "That's great, honey.  Are we EVER going to have sex again?"  HAHA, good times...

What were we talking about?

HEHE, yeah, isn't that the stupidest name ever!  I totally choked on a user name.  It's my real first name, but with the "mistie" it sounds really dumb.  Ah well...

Hilarious!  But I think we are getting off topic and it's my fault, I fear.  Let's hear from J-Proof or somebody if Rifftraxx is covering it's nut or not.
