I am of the age where Top Gun and Iron Eagle hold a special place. I've always been somewhat of an airplane buff, and those two movies hitting cable during my late pre-teen years have alot to do with it.

That said, Iron Eagle would be pretty good for riffing. It's kinda like Top Gun as produced by Golan/Globus meets Space Camp (the movie, not the camp). I absolutely love it to death, as I love just about all cheesy 80's movies to death... but this one is a little bizzare. Lou Gosset Jr, Cousin Oliver and "a rap by little old me Lamar" in bit roles, the title character bringing along his own theme music on cassette walkman, dogfight scenes that will make you long for Jester and Iceman... and of course Tim Thomerson, who was the really, really poor man's Bruce Campbell before Bruce Campbell was the poor man's version of himself.

I'm getting goosebumps just thinking about how increbily lame-awesome the whole experience is.

That's a terrible thing to say.  Iron Eagle is the Air Force's version of "An Officer and a Gentlemen"  or maybe it's just a crappy, poorly-directed, poorly written pile of poo.

is lame-awesome anything like ganodab?

lame-awesome is (not a complete list.. just a quick stream of consciousness):

Road House
Iron Eagle
anything shown on Cinemax and/or Showtime featuring Shannon Tweed
Krull
all the Die Hard movies (even the second one)
Hudson Hawk
The Last Boy Scout... shit every Bruce Willis movie ever.
just about any really, really bad martial arts flick
Independance Day
Gymkata
anything starring Van Damme
anything starring Segal ((Steven and to a lesser extent, George (who completely kicked ass in Look Who's Talking))
almost anything starring Arnold
The Karate Kid (one thru three)
Real Genius (some might aruge this as just being awesome, but they would be wrong... it features Val Kilmer)
Revenge of the Nerds I and II (the sequel was more lame-awesome than the original, which was just awesome)
Girls Just Wanna Have Fun (slow, slow... quick quick slow...)
Battle Beyond the Stars
Tron
My Chauffeur
almost anything starring Stallone as a cop
almost anything starring Rick Moranis and/or Tom Arnold
Only the Strong
almost anything produced by Golan/Globus (ie. Chuck Norris gold from the 80's)
Blind Fury
anything featuring Charles Bronson
anything featuring the great Billy Zabka as a bad guy (Karate Kid was previously mentioned, but Zabka is more than just that)

and....I could go on like this for hours... well, not really... but either way, I'm spent.

I went out on a date once with the girl who played Jason Gedrick's sister in Iron Eagle.  I've never actually seen the movie, but I just felt the need to throw that out there.

Oh and, we were in college at the time we went out.  Cause, she was like, 8 in Iron Eagle.  That'd just be weird.
