So even though Halloween II has failed horribly at the box office it appears that Weinstein company wants to go ahead and jump on the 3-D horror movie bandwagon with the aptly titled Halloween 3-D. Although I hate this idea I know it'll sell well just for the fact that every other horror movie that has been released this past year has sold like hot cakes. What do you guys think of this news? Any of you out there seen Halloween II yet, how'd you feel during it?

It didn't do too bad at the box office, made it's budget back at least. Financially speaking, it'll end up a success.

Not too many horror films have done 3-D this year, I can only think of two off the top of my heads (maybe three), and they were more modest successes (if that).

I wonder if this will actually turn out to be a remake of Halloween III: Season of the Witch. That would be pretty weird in 3D, to say the least...

I would laugh my ass off if they tried to go Season of the Witch with part 3.  I'd go opening night just to watch all the young confused faces.  "Where the hell is the white faced guy?  What is this?"

Well " The Final Destination" completely blew away their BO predictions so I am sure horror 3-D is going to be the next big fad. (I only saw it to see it in 3-D)

the thought that it is 3-D would make people flock in it. horror 3D is good to go!

I think it could be really cool, 3D blood splatter = fun.  I'd love a 3D Scanners sequel

Steve Miner? really? he's got 3D experience I guess and H20 is the pinnacle of his career but his 'Day of the Dead' remake was easily my least favourite movie of last year.  Funny he's getting a free pass compared to Zombie on a lot of places, guess he doesn't have the bandwagon of bashing Rob does.

*high-fives*

I've had that on four times since last Friday. I love it and cannot wait until the re-release of it on DVD in October. Until then, it's never leaving my DVR.

Please, leave out the androids this time.   ::)

I know I probably didn't have to spoiler that but you never know.

To be fair, the stupid "killer androids" were demanded by the studio. They weren't in Nigel Kneale's original script.

Well, they went with a former Halloween director like I thought they should, but the wrong one! :)

But who's going to replace Tom Atkins? That guy totally gave me the skeeves in the movie...  :)

Because we are past or at least should be past the fads of the 50s and 80s where horror was synonomous with 3-D, horror films in 3-D has one major problem kill shots are staged for 3-D and it's a big problem when you watch a film that is meant for 3-D and you have to watch it in 2-D (see The Final Destination). I was at a local drive in last week seeing GI Joe and District 9, during Joe I caught the beginning to TFD and seeing how drive ins don't support 3-D it was a regular 2-D film and the kill shots were so horribly placed for 3-D that I laughed at how bad the cinematography really was. I just really hate the re-emergance of 3-D in horror nowadays, as if horror films needed anymore help of being terrible nowadays.
