Buying bad movies in hopes of a Rifftrax?

Just wondering if anyone out there has ever bought a movie just out of hope that it would end up being a Rifftrax. I've been tempted once or twice to raid the Walmart $5 bin and stock up on Rifftrax Potentials, but I've never been able to take the plunge. Anyone?

As I said in another thread I kept a copy of Troll 2 in my office ever since the Troll 2! Troll 2!! thread started. I also have Coyote Ugly and Blue Crush there too.

...

Coyote Ugly and Blue Crush, huh? Young girls dancing on bars while wearing almost nothing, and young girls surfing while wearing almost nothing. I'm sure your intentions are all about Rifftrax with owning those two!  ;)

"Yeah, I own those movies because um... well, see there's this thing called Rifftrax and, uh... Well no, they haven't actually riffed those two movies yet, but... uh..."

My boss does give me shit about them every time she sees them in my office.  :D

I bought Gymkata, but that was just mostly curiousity.  It's easy to get a bad movie for sale on the 'net , so as soon as the next rifftrax is nnounced, I scour amazon marketplace and ebay for the best prices.  I'm actually in the process of selling off some of the films I'm not especially keen on at the moment, so I'm just hoping they don't turn up as rifftrax in the near future.   :)

I'm hanging on to a copy of Timeline someone was giving away, purely because I was watching it thinking "They have to do this; it would be a crime not to."

I manage a used book/music/movie store. I just keep my stash in my office.

nope, I only buy the bad ones if I like the rifftrax.  For example, I now own Daredevil...which is very shocking to me on one level.  Though, I DID own Road House well before Rifftrax.com.  For a while it was my regular Saturday night thing.

starfighter

I've got a copy of Coyote Ugly, which Mike mentioned in an interview as his probable third "bar" movie after Road House and Cocktail.   I also picked up a copy of Days of Thunder when I bought a 3-pack of Cruise movies on eBay.  Cocktail and Top Gun were the other two.
Otherwise, I'm not trying to predict what Mike will choose next.  I'd have a copy of Batman and Robin if I was trying that.

Jason_Voorhees

Super Mario Bros and I might get Street Fighter for the hell of it.

I stocked up on Sylvester Stallone and Schwarzenegger movies, including:

Cobra
Over The Top
Tango and Cash
Demolition Man
Commando
Total Recall
The Running Man
Predator

ONE of those HAS to be riffed sometime in the next year or so.  It just...I don't see how they can avoid those for too long.

gammer

I only get the movie once RiffTrax announces what they are riffing on.
