Gareth

Hello all,

Just purchased my first RiffTrax today (Battlefield Earth). Been a huge MST3K fan FOREVER. My favorite episode is SPACE MUTINY! the japanese ones were hilarious too (take me away little shorts!).

I was super stoked to find this site. I miss seeing the robot silohuettes and mike reaching up and picking noses, but ill get over it. I hope RiffTrax takes off and lasts for a long time!

Keep the riffs coming! You guys kick ass.

Welcome Gareth    ;D

I agree, it is a little weird at first listening to the riffs & not having the silohuettes. But you do get used to it.
Ya' down with O.T.T? Yeah you know me.

Welcome Gareth.  I must admit, I feel a little awed by your brazen use of your real name* in an internet forum.  Kudos and welcome!

*Unless 'Gareth' is the psuedonym, which would also be quite fantastic in its irony.

Official BBQ Platypus "Welcome to Insert Forum Name Here" Cookie-Cutter Form Letter:

Greetings, New Poster!  As of now, my feelings toward you are completely neutral! May they remain neutral or better for many a month, before you say something that annoys me slightly until about a week later when I forget about it! Then, may they remain neutral again!

By the way, I love your cool, evil-sounding name.  It's like a law that all literary dark lords need to have a name that ends in "-oth," "-eth," or "-on."  Anyfriggincrap, welcome, oh mighty Gareth, Lord of Darkness and God of Hellfire.
Correction: the coat hanger should be upside down.

HAHHAH

i guess my name is pretty cool. Thank god I'm not named Garth. That would suck.

Welcome Garth!   ;)

I've been a fan of Mystery Science Theater 3000 since 1992.  This officially makes me an old fool.  The highlight of my life was meeting Mike Nelson and Kevin Murphy at DragonCon in Atlanta.  I was starstruck and couldn't even talk when I had my wife take the pictures in my profile.  I have VHS tapes from a time when VCRs cost $600, and I'm glad that I had the foresight to capture these living legends.

Welcome Gizmaniac.

Did you convert your VHS to DVD for preservation?

I recently converted all the eps from season 1 to 10 for myself and a friend. Took almost 3/4 of a year to complete.

Welcome Gizmanic.

I've been meaning to convert my tapes too.  I don't have as many as some, but I have a literal wardrobe full because I recorded them in EP.  I even bought a DVD-Recorder/VCR combo specifically for tape conversion (and they'd take up so much less room too) but I never have.  I've done one, and it took forever because, of course, I had to watch the episode, even though I told myself I'd do something else.

mike5150 how tall are you?.....in gallons?

Hey everyone! I'm new also and my first offical Rifftrax was Nestor, but only cause I got the free download from that other site. Since then I got a working debit card and was FINALLY able to get the Battlefield Earth Rifftrax, which I thought was funny as hell. I plan on slowly getting the other Rifftraxs over time, maybe starting with the Troll 2 one.
Any other suggestions?
