I actually enjoyed the first one. It was fun! Not supremely great, but it made me feel good watching it. They've given a lot of indication that they've heard the feedback about the first FF and they'll be fixing it this time around. Maybe the masses will sing the praises of the sequel. :^)

I have to agree with pak-man. The first FF4 movie wasnt the greatest thing in the world. But it was a fun movie and it was mostly true to the comics. Anyways if you compare the 2005 version of FF4 to the 1994 Roger Corman FF4. Believe me the 2005 version looks like a frickin masterpiece. Overall im looking forward to the next.

The Corman FF4 was unintentionally hilarous. FF4 tried to be funny. It failed. Corman wins.

He's actually made some good movies: The Fall of the House of Usher, The Raven, and The Saint Valentine's Day Massacre are all pretty good, with the last one being excellent.  It's just that he's also made some wretched movies that outweigh the good stuff.

Here's the thing about things looking "Overly CGI."

With things like The Hulk, or Silver Surfer, there's only 2 ways to go. You can put them in cheesy costumes, or you can CGI 'em, but either way, your brain shouts out FAKE. Silver Surfer looks like a man made out of silver. There's no way your brain's gonna take in a man made out of silver, and think anything but, "That has to be a special effect! I'll bet it's CGI! It looks like CGI!" It's exactly the same thing as it was back in the day when people would go to movies and come out saying, "I could tell Greedo was wearing a rubber mask!" Ya think!? The point of movies is to suspend disbelief. As long as Silver Surfer is competantly represented (And I think he is) then the CGI is done well enough. :^)

Here's the ironic part in the case of FF2: in non-effects shots, the Surfer will NOT be CG. It's a guy in a suit.

Mo-Cap can even suck, as Kodiak said. Even Spider Man looks really fake.....

See, for me, the only parts where Spidey looks "fake" are the bits where he's doing acrobatic maneuvers that would be impossible for a human being to do; and, in the context of Spider-Man's story, that works for me, because it helps reinforce his not-quite-human-ness.

You wanna talk about some atrocious CG humans? Watch the church organ fight scene in Daredevil.

some blather about Peter jacksons "greed"

I would have to say that the end result (The Lord of the Rings movies) proves, once again, that "greed" is GOOD.

Besides who here doesn't know about Hollywood accounting?

Anybody who was ever foolish enough to negotiate with Paramount without an army of attorneys present certainly does...  :-",

To be honest, in terms of the marketplace for superhero films (NOT in terms of my own preferences), I'd rather see films out that, although workmanlike and unremarkable, don't take a lot of liberties with the source material, and end up a large financial success (like Fantastic Four), than films that are brilliant, thoughtful and take chances, but which are a bust at the box office (like Hulk). The former results in more films like Batman Begins, while the latter results in more films like Catwoman.

That said, I'll take Hulk over Fantastic Four any day (that IS my own preference).

Let's just hope that It overcome the two main obstacles in its' path...

1) All movies based on Comic Book characters stink

2) No sequel is as good as its' predecessor

I submit that both of these rules were broken by Spiderman 2. (I'd also say X-Men 2, but there's bound to be more disagreement there. :^))

Okay, so it's no longer a hard and fast rule.  But it can and does quite often still hold true, sadly more often than I'm comfortable with...

You Know, Sometimes its nice just to watch a movie and enjoy them. Without having to think about logic and every thing eles that makes real Life dull and boring.
