I loved the first one and I went to the movie last night. I LOVED it. It was fantastic. I'm a big fan and I enjoyed it.

Oh and the Autobot twins (Skids and Mudflap) are not racial stereotypes unless YOU make them that way. I saw them as stupid hick kids who were Ghetto wannabes more than anything.

Would the movie win any awards? No. But it is an action packed thrill ride and a great popcorn movie.

So, $16 million last night. Oh buddy.

Short review: forgot it was coming out today. Missed midnight show. Saw it first thing today, thanks to folks here reminding me it started,

Very enjoyable. Enjoyed it more than the first one. Ebert's an idiot.

There are no good Michael Bay movies.  By default it sucks.

Yep, most people. That's why I say that "most people" don't mind Michael Bay.  "Most people" also enjoy reality television, Britney Spears, and NASCAR.

they  can keep  Britney Spears  and  reality television for all it is worth

I generally don't like Bay's flicks, but he was a good match for Transformers, IMHO.

Sorry, I'll fix it:

"Most people" also enjoy reality television, Britney Spears, and Bud Light.

Better?

You good kid!

You stupid Americans, buying into all that Transformer-y crapness and being blinded by the loud bangs and pretty colours.  We Englishman would never--

*hears it's made £9 million in its first weekend in the UK*

Nevermind.   :-[

Phantom of Krankor

Just got back from Transformers, it was dreadful.  I liked the last one despite its short commings, but I really could not enjoy this one.

The final battle sequence kept going on and on and on and on and on and on longer than the city battle in the last movie, and to make things worse, you couldn't tell who were the descepticons and the autobots and who was shooting at who, it was all so confusing!

Plus Bumblebee and Optimus were barely in the movie at all, and the unlikeable human characters hogged all the screen time. And the jokes were cruder and lamer than the last movie made worse with a shot of John Turturro in a thong.

And lastly, what was with all the sexploitation?! I felt like I was watching Grindhouse!
I am Ambassador Phantom, from the planet Krankor! I am rapidly approaching your planet... in the warship, which you have just seen. I will arrive tomorrow night at precisely eight o'clock. At that time I shall make my wishes known to you. You will obey them... or die! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA!

Doctor Who?

Why does Bay keep putting sex and lots of talking in movies that only an 8 year old would want to see?

From the reviews most people have been giving in here, people much older than 8 not only wanted to see this movie but enjoyed it.  Just sayin'.

I, for one, am going to avoid this film like the plague until Mike, Kevin, and Bill do a Rifftrax for it.
Imrahil: Don't care about Riding with Death.

Bob: Turkey.

Action Batch:  Woah, let's all mellow out and rap about this.
