Thoughts? Favorite Lines?

A very solid riff! Considering how bizzare the film is, I thought this was either going to be really good or fall flat on it's face, but everything works out wonderfully! Highlights include the cancer jokes, the Prince of Space callback, and of course, the sex scenes. This is the nearest any Rifftrax has gone to having an actual narrative, we may be entering the French New Wave of Rifftrax!

Between this, Casablanca, Twilight and Voodoo Man, this is probably one of the best hot streaks Rifftrax has even been on.

Insert Coin(s) to Continue

So this is a ... comedy. They call it a black comedy, sure, but unless they were aware of how bad this film was, there's no way this was intended to be comedic at all.

Everyone but Tommy was quite aware they were neck deep in crap.

Yeah it was an obvious retcon. When it first came out he marketed it as a drama, then once he saw everyone laughing at it he rebranded it as comedy. (Nice try, Tommy.)

So it's like what Frank Miller did with All-Star Batman and Robin?

Artie

A hilarious riff.

Lots of great lines in this one:

"Marty Worth?"

"Spiral ham, spiral ham, spiral ham"

The entire folk song singalong turned hee-haw

and

"I like you very much"

Johnny: "Two's great, but three's a crowd."
Mike: "Just like that John Ritter sitcom: flubbed line."

"Lisa will lament that her husband is too boring as she "SITS AROUND THE HOUSE ALL DAY."

Lisa: "Do you know what you need?"
Bill: "Don't say sex.... don't say sex.... don't say sex..."

"The pizza place assumed Lisa was joking when she ordered those ridiculous toppings, so they just brought her a plain cheese one to be safe."

"The parts of Johnny and Lisa will now be played by even less known actors."

Bill (as Michelle) "I gotta go eat a box of chocolates off my boyfriend's Johnson.

I loved Bill's alliteration after Johnny plants the tape recorder.

*knock at door*
Lisa: "Who is it?"
Bill (annoyed): "You know THREE OTHER PEOPLE."

"Shirts are very very complicated.  I'll need at least 15 minutes!"

"He just got back from having his hair restringed and his suit enlumpened."

And I loved the various interjections by Disembaudio's friends and families to cover the sex scenes.  I actually mistook the Disembaudio sync line at 49:45 as another Disembaudio riff.  I figure that's a good testament to how dumb this movie is.

That was great the way they handled the cancer sub plot.

God help me, but I actually sat through the interview with him included on the DVD.  No WAY that he thought the film was a comedy.  [He's not remotely a good enough actor to pull off acting as if he were serious if he was not.]

By the way, if anyone thought the movie itself was disturbing <raises hand>, do NOT watch his interview... because in that he is actually being himself and saying the things he does.  :speechless:  He basically said that it had so much insight into the human condition that everybody in America should see it... and at least twice, because they won't get the complexity the first time.  To think that his brain works on such a low level that he thinks that the film could hold insight for anyone into anything... well, it is amazing if he can dress himself [in his boxy 'enlumpened' suit] without help.

Tommy Wiseau HAS to be related to Adrianna Miles from Werewolf, he just has to be.
