...

I'm a little torn since neither team is my team, and i like 'em both. My friends always give me hell, because usually i just enjoy watching a good game... rather than pick some arbitrary team to cheer on. Having said that, i think i'd like to see Peyton win a Superbowl. Originally i wanted to see a Manning-bowl... Colts Vs. Giants, Peyton Vs. Eli, brother Vs. brother. Nevermind the symantics of it all, it woulda' been freakin' cool...

PS- I like the Superbowl Rifftrax idea... but how about just a football movie?
We got Gridiron Gang, Any Given Sunday, Last Boyscout, The Longest Yard, Wildcats... an endless amount of crappy football movies to choose from!

Grossman does just enough to not blow it. The Bears running game is solid. Manning throws a couple of killer picks early and can't rally the Colts back late. Bears win 31-28.

And yes, I am ready for some football. In fact, I might just watch Laserblast and take in some Hank Williams Jr. riffs before the big game on Sunday.

My prediction: Manning the Comeback Kid throws some sort of amazing play early in the second half that rallies his team and builds morale just enough to throw Da Bears off kilter. Late in the fourth, one touchdown will decide the fate of the game, and the ball is in Manning's hands. The hike is hollered and as the ball is snapped, the lights dim, and a strange voice can be heard over the PA - It's Bill Belichick, head coach of the New England Pats!

Ranting and raving about stolen chances and right-wing conspiracies, Belichick has the crowd stunned and confused - as well as the players. Attention is drawn away from gameplay completely until Tom Brady accompanied by Matt Cassel and Eric Alexander appear out of nowhere behind Manning, and begin mercilously pounding the Offensive line apart with steel chairs. The Bears are stunned, and are torn between whether or not they should assist the rabid and venegful Pats (after all, is not your enemy's enemy your friend?) or if they should do their best to stop the insanity and preserve the dignity of the game. The solution, of course, is to start brawling with each other as the refs get trampled and destroyed.

This is short lived however, as the ranting of Belichick and the imminent crowd riot is surprised yet again by a loud thud over the PA and the anal retentive voice of Marty Schottenheimer. As the entire stadium puts their attention on Marty, they see that he's got a Tony Gwynn-autographed Padres baseball bat in hand, and Belichick has been thrown from the balcony! In the field, LT has taken the steel chair from Brady, and smacked him square in the face with it. Then, taking a Chargers helmet, spikes it on top of Brady's unconscious body... sweet revenge.... Merriman has already eaten and crapped out four Bears defensive linemen, and then attempts to have sex with every female in the audience over the age of eighteen.

The cyborg Belichick begins climbing back to the announcers' box and proceeds to claw his way through the structure. He and Schottenheimer begin a battle of fates that involves Belichick biting through the baseball bat, and Marty using his evil sith-lord powers to throw down his opponent. Manning is still unconscious, but during the brawl, with his last ounce of strength, he managed to carry both the football and three random limbs of opposing players within one yard of the endzone. However, flakes of human tissue and gatorade are being coughed from his mouth, and it appears that his hip is no longer connected to his spine. Hope looks lost for the Colts as a bloodied and war-stained Grossman makes a slow approach to Manning's corpse-like body. Taking the ball, he turns and begins to limp furiously toward the opposite side of the field.....

When Philip Rivers appears out of nowhere in front of him and pile drives him into the squared circle! Taking the ball from Grossman's senseless form, Rivers places it in Manning's hand! The crowd goes insane! Rivers then drags Grossman inside the endzone, and lays him flat on his back. He then drags Manning, who is still coughing up his insides, and places him on his stomach next to Grossman - one hand over Grossman's chest, the other hand gripping the football! Merriman throws a referee from the fifty yard line to the endzone with LT sitting on the ref's back (the image looks glorious.... like that scene from ET...) Needless to say, the crowd breaks the decibal record three times over.... Rivers and LT pick up the unconscious referee's hand and ONE - TWO - THREE!!!

MANNING MAKES THE PIN!
THE COLTS WIN THE SUPERBOWL!
THE TV ANNOUNCERS GO CRAZY!!!
THE CROWD GOES APE-SHEIT!

Manning is revived enough to stand up as a golden belt is lowered from the rafters and he is cloaked with it!
"How does it feel to be the world heavyweight champ, Peyton?" Asks Michael Buffer.
Manning, who barely has a jaw after this last play, mumbles inconsistently..."If /I/ can change....and /you/ can change....."

The game ends.....

Grapes? I hate grapes, I can't stand grapes. I loathe grapes. All kinds of grapes. I hate green grapes and I hate purple grapes. I hate grapes with seeds, I hate grapes without seeds. I hate them peeled and nonpeeled. I hate them in bunches, one at a time and in small groups of twos and threes.

Reasons why this Superbowl will be totally awesome:
2.) Peyton Manning = one of the most like-able qbs in the NFL

There are plenty of people that hate him with a passion....like me! I can't stand that smug sob. But it's probably because I am a Gator fan and my hatred for Peyton started when he played for Tenn.

I love how every one is saying that Rex Grossman is such a liability for da Bears. How many of you have actually watched him play? I mean really watched him play? Sure he is making mistakes but he has a ton of talent. He is so good but he get's so into the game that he makes mental mistakes. That is mainly because he essentially a rookie, I mean he was injured so much that this is really his first real full season.

If the Bears are going to win it's because of Grossman and same if they lose but I am leaning heavily towards them winning and Grossman winning the MVP. I think that Peyton is destined to get his Superbowl win at the end of his career ala John Elway.

I disagree with you majorly with one point - if the Bears win it'll be completely because of their killer defense, and less because of Grossman's quick-thinking. But yes, the game this weekend will be AWESOME. I can't wait >_<

Superbowl Sunday is the best day of the year to go to the Mall. You OWN the place. :^)

sarcasm_made_Easy

on a mildly off topic comment here:  The best day to go to disneyland is in the rain in the middle of the week during a school day.  90% of the rides nowadays are in doors, so you bring your sweetheart dress warmly in layers and bring an umbrella to huddle under and prepare to be in your OWN magical land of wonderment.

Yeah.  Screw "express written consent."  "Implied oral consent" is just fine by us.  (I think the NFL might object, though).

Anycrap, here's why I'm rooting for the Bears:

1) The Manning family must never win a Super Bowl.  Ever.  I respect Peyton and all, and he seems like a pretty good guy, but the Mannings as a whole strike me as a kind of elitist bunch.  And Archie Manning is an asshole.

2) My mom grew up in Chicago (and subsequently, grew up a Bears fan).

3) I've never really hated the Bears the way I hate the Packers.

3) The Colts play fantasy football.  The Bears play football the way REAL men play it.  (On defense, anyway).

4) I'm sick and tired of the AFC winning all the time.  Sure, there are more good teams (and greater depth among playoff teams) in the AFC.  But the distance between good teams and bad teams in the AFC is much greater, which causes just a bit of record inflation.  And the AFC East is as overrated as hell - mainly because it's an East Coast team.  (ESPN has a depressing tendency to devote 99.99% of its coverage to teams on the East Coast).

5) Call me crazy, but I think that defensive coordinator Ron Rivera, with the help of Brian Urlacher and Co., are more than capable of beating Peyton Manning and, um...whoever they have calling the plays that Peyton always changes at the line of scrimmage...in a game of wits.

On that note, I like the Bears in a relatively low-scoring upset.  Hell, I'll even be bold enough to say that I think they'll crush 'em.  My prediction: Bears 21, Colts 10.

Simply put, if anyone wants to go ahead and tape the entire thing, beginning to end.  Then if Mike and the crew d any kind of commentary, be it the entire game, or just the commercials you'll be set. Then just like any other RiffTrax, as long as their separate, there can't be any real infringement, especially if it's for personal use....
