A Plea From the Posting-Challenged

To the Powers that Run Twenty Questions:

I was finally ready to participate in the last Twenty Questions session, but for whatever reasons, the requirement to post images was simply beyond me.  I found no way to upload them from my own files, and linking to images on other sites never worked in the tests I ran.  I wasted a couple of hours trying to get things to work, and ended up having to watch the game like some poor Dickensian kid watching people feast in a restaurant, his nose pressed against the glass, tears trickling down his hollowed cheeks.

All right, I didn't cry.  Twenty Questions isn't that big a deal -- but I still missed out.

What I'm trying to say is, loading technical requirements on the participants diminishes the pool of said participants.  Maybe that's intended, as the game could get too crowded, and if so I'll withdraw my petition, and just keep standing with my face against the glass, wishing I could

Okay, I'm better again.  But if you're doing it just to make the game more challenging, might I suggest finding some simpler methods, that don't burden the people playing.

I'll offer one free suggestion.  Let the participants know ahead of time that you reserve the right to give a false answer a certain small number of times. (Two or three seems right.)  The possibilities for mischief are legion.

There, I'm done.  Oh, and I'll clean up the smudge I left on the glass.

Fair enough, however the image thing is a throwback from a week ago, and instructions were given by other people in the thread on how to host and link images. http://www.tinypic.com/ seems pretty straight forward.

The twenty questions games from my standpoint are supposed to be fun and not taken very seriously. Sure sometimes people get a free rifftrax (thanks!) but the real point is to have fun and to find out the next movie that is going to be riffed early.

Sure it may not be easy to post pictures but the effort is what counts. Besides you should want to learn how to use the board's options to the fullest extent that way you will enjoy it more.

I agree, I didn't like the image thing. Just too much work to make a simple little guess.
I am Ambassador Phantom, from the planet Krankor! I am rapidly approaching your planet... in the warship, which you have just seen. I will arrive tomorrow night at precisely eight o'clock. At that time I shall make my wishes known to you. You will obey them... or die! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA!

Indeed I can be something of a techno-retard at times myself, but posting images? Try seaching for an image hidden in the code of a thread....  Well I guess everybody has to start somwhere....

Don't worry, we're going to switch things up again for the next time. Maybe even do another puzzle-type game, scavenger hunt or something. If you guys are up for that. Post your opinions here.

Sorry if the images thing seems daunting. There is always help available, most of the time it's a LOT simpler than you might think. We're here to have fun, and everyone will catch on eventually...

Torgos...really I think that the picture thing is not that much of a problem for 90 % of the posters and the other 10% can learn...
As for future games I don't know if you know about a website abovetopsecret.com.....well it's really a funny conspiracy board but the one thing they are most well know for are doing "web games".

One of the most fun ones they did was they set up a site with a picture of Albert Einstein

And that is it, it took a week or so till people figured out what to do, the simply put a www.websitename.com/Einstein
which lead to the next picture, until it got harder and it was non sensical statements, just words, etc.

What was most cool about it was each answer was connected in the long run. Now I don't think we need something as complicated but it would be cool to set something like this up and have it start early in the week giving people time to work on it.....

I was wondering when the next 'game' would come along. I figured with the success of the last game, it would have brought them on allot sooner. But I guess that would mean allot more work too...

Looking forward to the next game...

Hell, if I can post that picture of the shirtless Swayze mounted atop a white stallion, then ANYONE should be able to learn how to post pictures.

And, I'm all for a good brain-teaser of a puzzle.

I'm all in favor of whatever the mods come up with.  If at all possible I would like a little more notice when the games are going to be played.  I almost missed the last one cause I checked to early in the morning to see if there was one that day.  Just a thought.

Okay. The last one was kind of spur-of-the-moment. If we decide to do another one sometime soon, we will give everyone some advance warning.

That's the way Windows is run. For those who know how to use it(i.e. tech-savvy), it's easy as pie. For those who don't, it's far too frustrating and counter-intuative to operate. It's just not that easy.

Bring on the mudslinging! I am not afraid!
