Main Menu music. (AC3 format).
Chapter Menu Music. (AC3 format).

I made these up this past Saturday the 23rd so they were  all ready to go.  Main menu music was the Tron end credits music.  Chapter menus music was from some Tron music video on Youtube.  The background is actually the menu from the original DVD, with some text blacked out.  I saw that it was pretty well formatted, so I just cut out the irrelevant menu text put in there originally, and added my own.

The chapter stop subtitles were from the RiffRaff Theater readme.  Strangely, there were 19 in the file, but like 28 in the DVD I had.  I had to take the timecodes given in the readme, convert those to seconds, and multiply by 30 to recreate the chapter stops manually.

Is there any kind of a guide on how to make dvds with these? I did a little searching but didn't find anything.

Not sure how Thrifty does it, but I use Nero Vision. I don't bother for most Rifftrax, though, since Nero doesn't do subtitles and I'd rather have those if given a choice.

Not yet, but I have been meaning to write one up.  I think I'll do that this weekend.

Note though that making menus would be pretty specific to the software.  I use DVD Lab Pro, which is not cheap ($250 for the full copy, but you can get full functionality for 30 days with the free trial), so I'll be writing the guide based on that.

Wow, that's a lot of scratch there. Does DVD Lab Pro use subtitles?

It's cheaper than Sony Vegas; I think that one cost around $650.

DVD Lab does have the option for adding subtitles, though I've never used it.  I did subtitles on some of my earliest reauthors, but they never seemed to match up with the dialogue.  Also I don't like reading when I'm watching a movie.

oh wow, that's a bit ridiculous in pricing for all that I would be using it for. I suppose I'll use that free trial once theres a guide, and I have enough re-authored files lined up to get some quick use out of it.

I'm guessing Nero is a lot cheaper, so I might try that. Any chance on making a guide, or is it pretty easy to figure out on your own?

I guess I'm too much of a reader. I have to understand every word of dialogue. That and I've seen enough foreign films and anime that I got used to subs. There's a list of subtitles in the Tech Support forum here if you want subs that work (you'll need Subtitle Creator to convert them to SUP). You can also make your own with SubRip, but it's a long process since you have to identify every character and then go back and make sure there were no mistakes.
