Ok, which edition is the theatrical one?  I am looking on Amazon and see the director's cut (The one I know is wrong) and the two-disc widescreen edition.  The two-disc widescreen edition looks right but all customer reviews are praising the director's cut.  Can anyone share cover art for their DVD case so I know which to buy?

Wiseblood

The cover should have a picture of Bennifer2 in their goofy costumes.  The director's cut has a large "DD" logo on the cover.

Thank you very much. I believe I have the right edition. I bought it used off of Amazon for cheap and the description matches.  After all, you don't want to spend too much for these movies.

I just wonder if I should watch the movie unassisted first and risk deep hurting or go into it the first time with Rifftrax.

I got mine off Amazon too from a marketplace seller and even though I ordered the right edition (the photo on the page I ordered from is the edition I wanted), they sent me the wrong one.  I emailed them but no reply.

So, be forewarned, you may get stuck with a copy of Daredevil that isn't watchable by any standards.  That being said, I haven't had time to listen to the track and see how badly it synchs. It could be just fine. :-)
mike5150 how tall are you?.....in gallons?

I ordered the two disc widescreen which I"m pretty sure is the correct edition (Probably the theatrical with a special features disc) and checked the condition of the used copies to make sure that they mentioned something like "Disc 1 has slight scratches" or "Both discs are in mint condition." anything to indicate it wasn't director's cut.  Hopefully it will work out right.

Well, for a graphical example of how to tell which version from the other, here you go.

Daredevil - Theatrical Version

Daredevil - Director's Cut

In my opinion, the director's cut is so much more better than the theatrical print.
Being a genocidal maniac is not one of my turn ons.

Is it weird to hear the Safety Dance in my head watching Game of Thrones?

Of course it is, and anyone that bought it "new" will have that version. ;)
Unfortunately, those that want to listien to the RIFFTRAX will either have to get another version, or try to sync the DVD with the MP3.

I was going to say that the difference probably wasn't that much, but I see from imdb.com that it is a 30 min difference.
I did not know that until now, and am glad I did not d/l the rifftrax.

crap. i got it off netflix and i think the director's cut is the only one you can get. i didn't even know about that, boo. hiss.

i might have gotten the director's cut by accident, then, i didn't know about this whole conflict... i'm such a newb!

but that's good, i'll go back and shop around for the right one. this was definitely the director's cut cuz it started off in sync and then just got... repeatedly, inexplicably, COMPLETELY off.

anyway, when i realized my error i just kicked back and watched it. i really wanted to like it. i'll incur lots of wrath for this, but i actually like ben affleck. i mean, not LIKE like, but... i always thought he was pretty cool. and the kingpin guy! he rules! i've thought he rocked since pulp fiction. but. you know what i think it was? was i imagining things or was that colin ferrell? his performance single-handedly trashed that whole movie. it was just... wide-eyed and frantic and odd.

strange, I did a netflix search and can only find the regular edition... but hey dont be too hard on yourself many of us have at some point in time made version mistakes (I have a worthless VHS copy of Star Wars ep 1)

Anyway best of luck finding a copy of Daredevil, the rifftrax is one of my favorites

MisterRiffley

the plot thickens because i just looked it up myself and the version they claim i have runs for 103 minutes, and i can guarantee you the one i actually watched ran around 2 hours. i remember really clearly because 2 hours of bad daredevil is just too much bad daredevil.

and seriously, it goes way way out of sync. it's not like it's rocket science, i cued em up and it's not like they went slightly out of synch. it's like, the rifftrax was obviously talking about something COMPLETELY different.

honestly, i think netflix goofed on this one. it's been known to happen before, but i'll throw in the disk at some point and double-check the runnning time. right now i'm really busy watching over the top again. it's almost roadhousian. and it synches.

MisterRiffley

i don't mean to get too wonky but....

here's proof netflix screws up royally.

i can promise you the movie that corresponds with that cover was actually made in 1978. but the synopsis sounds like some kinda direct-to-video remake.

whatever, these things happen.

hahaha, nice!  ;D
I haven't seen the directors cut myself, glad to here that you were able to survive it

...  stupid netflix my gripe with them is that just about every other movie I get is scratched
