So MST3K will most likely not be coming back, unfortunately. I say that as a fan... it does suck but hey, onto bigger and better things :)

The money that is not spent on licensing fees can now be used to go to Comic Con and to have live shows such as the Sketch Fest here in San Francisco. What other events await? Only time will tell!

Sampo sums it up about as well as any of us can, or will...

<rant> As for a reunion show, don't hold your breath.  Especially not where Comedy Central is concerned. Scratch the surface, and they're just like any other cable network franchise.  They're not run by comedians or even fans of comedy, at least not any more.  Perhaps in the days of Ha! or as The Comedy Channel this was true, but not anymore.  Back then they had a fire in their belly and a desire to fill a need for quality comedy for the masses 24 hours a day.  But now it's just a means to an end, sad to say.  They go on the cheap to get as much content as they can for as little as they can.  Like everyone else, it's about ratings and market share and promoting DVD sales for stuff that you just watched 5 minutes ago.  Never mind the fact that they re-run some of this stuff day in and day out...</rant>

It's certainly a sad state of affairs, not only at CC but everywhere. The best programming is that which we program ourselves, here at Rifftrax!

<rant con't> Yeah, I know, I still remember when CC had shows like Caroline's featuring up-and-comers. But not any more, because they're not a known quantity that they can use to milk the audience for every last nickel...</rant>

Sorry guys, as you can see I still have a lot of pain to work through, and well, what can I say?  You guys a whole lot cheaper than actual therapy.... lol :D

MST3K could be brought back in a way..

Isn't there a roaming rumor that the makers of Time Chasers STILL want to do Time Chasrers II
If they do make it, couldn't MIke and the other Riff crew do a RiffTrax in a MST3K style?

I would love to see MST3K comeback..there's still SO many bad movies to do!!

Cosmic Muse

I'm telling you all, when Sci F channel withdrew its support for MST3K, their network started going downhill fast.

And yes, there are so many bad movies out there. I own alot of them from searching through boxes of cheap dollar store DVDs as well as rifling through the $5.00 bin at Wal-mart.
Being a genocidal maniac is not one of my turn ons.

Is it weird to hear the Safety Dance in my head watching Game of Thrones?

Just remember that this is the internet, where anyone can assert anything, anywhere, and at any time, all without one shred of proof....   While I understand how many of you feel, as I too, would not be terribly upset if there was a return to the glory days of yore.  Having said that, I feel compelled to point out that its' just been way too long and the group as a whole is just spread out way too thin.  Many have moved on to other project(s)  As far as going back and doing it MST3K style, that also deals with contracts and network execs, and movie rights, and in general just a whole lot of unnecessary stress, and a complete and utter lack of overall creative control

For example, I just got a call from Shatner, he's dying to riff... he told me so!
