Gosh, how dare Hollywood take crappy Hollywood movies and make them into other crappy Hollwood movies.

Don't you understand every movie becomes an untouchable masterpiece whenever a remake is suggested?

Still you have to get a little angry when Hollywood casts Jayden Smith in a remake of the "Karate Kid" directed by Will Smith.

I disagree.  I was looking forward to the American version of Godzilla even though I love the original. Especially after they said they were studying the original pre-Raymond Burr version and that great "Jurrasic Park" trailer.

But, instead of getting a good high-tech version they tried to make a freaking comedy out of it.

On the other hand, I was VERY nervous about the remake of Mighty Joe Young.  Thought it was going to be a god-awful joke like the '70s version of King Kong.  And as much as I wish they had made it more for adults than kid-friendly, I enjoyed that movie very much.

He's too young for that!!!!

Jeez, if Will Smith wants to get someone in the family a real movie career why doesn't he try the wife?

No, I really don't.

I liked Karate Kid when I was a kid but I assume it's really dated now and a remake would make the story fresh for a new audience.  Even if I still liked Karate Kid and the remake wasn't good it wouldn't 'ruin' the original it'd make me appreciate it more.

At least he's branching out into kung fu and not keeping it karate. I still think at best it's unneccessary.

What they SHOULD make is something that is relevant and trendy NOW. A kid learns to become a WIRE-FU operator.

It's like The Punisher. If I want to talk about The Punisher, I want to talk about the cheesy Dolph Lundgren movie, not the cheesy John Travolta movie. Now I have to explain which cheesy movie I'm talking about.

Just don't talk about Punisher: Warzone. Just... don't.
I survived the San Diego Comic Con 2010 Hall H stabbing.

Hey! There's no fear in this thread!

It's a "re-imagining".  It will probably be as close to a mythical story as this ABC show "Cupid" is.

bratpop

He's a Titan! And she's a Titan! Can they live together without clashing??
