Subtitles

[gammer]

Shinigami, do you have the forced subs ready for SW: A New Hope? (ie - the Greedo scene)

[Wiseblood]

Here are the subs I'm using for ANH:

Code Select Expand

1
00:49:59,362 --> 00:50:01,853
Going somewhere, Solo?

2
00:50:07,404 --> 00:50:09,304
It's too late.

3
00:50:09,406 --> 00:50:11,806
You should have paid him
when you had the chance.

4
00:50:11,908 --> 00:50:15,344
Jabba's put a price on your head
so large...

5
00:50:15,445 --> 00:50:18,380
every bounty hunter in the galaxy
will be looking for you.

6
00:50:18,481 --> 00:50:20,472
I'm lucky I found you first.

7
00:50:22,852 --> 00:50:26,413
If you give it to me,
I might forget I found you.

8
00:50:29,960 --> 00:50:32,428
Jabba's through with you.

9
00:50:32,529 --> 00:50:35,054
He has no time for smugglers...

10
00:50:35,165 --> 00:50:37,827
who drop their shipments at
the first sign of an imperial cruiser.

11
00:50:41,771 --> 00:50:45,867
You can tell that to Jabba.
He may only take your ship.

12
00:50:48,278 --> 00:50:49,404
That's the idea.

13
00:50:49,512 --> 00:50:53,505
I've been looking forward to this
for a long time.

14
00:52:43,560 --> 00:52:46,586
Solo! Come out of there, Solo!

15
00:52:52,769 --> 00:52:54,703
Have you now.

16
00:52:59,409 --> 00:53:03,846
Han, my boy, you disappoint me.

17
00:53:03,947 --> 00:53:06,006
Why haven't you paid me...

18
00:53:06,116 --> 00:53:09,517
and why did you fry poor Greedo?

19
00:53:13,990 --> 00:53:17,517
Han, I can't make exceptions.

20
00:53:17,627 --> 00:53:20,494
What if everyone
who smuggled for me...

21
00:53:20,597 --> 00:53:23,157
dropped their cargo
at the first sign...

22
00:53:23,266 --> 00:53:25,894
of an imperial starship?

23
00:53:26,002 --> 00:53:27,902
It's not good business.

24
00:53:41,251 --> 00:53:46,814
Han, my boy, you're the best.

25
00:53:46,923 --> 00:53:49,289
So, for an extra 20%--

26
00:53:51,494 --> 00:53:53,553
Okay, 15%.

27
00:53:53,663 --> 00:53:55,790
But if you fail me again...

28
00:53:55,899 --> 00:53:58,834
I'll put a price on your head so big...

29
00:53:58,935 --> 00:54:03,133
you won't be able to go near
a civilized system.

30
00:54:07,510 --> 00:54:08,636
Come on!

[gammer]

I got the same subs using SubRip. However, my times were off by approx 3 mins.
Your's seem to be in sync better.
How did you get your subs?

[Wiseblood]

I did the SubRip thing too.  After I found out they were slightly off (this seems to be a problem with all the Star Wars DVDs for some reason) I searched on google and found an .srt of the entire movie's subtitles.  I loaded the .srt I got from SubRip into a program called "Subtitle Workshop" and used the "Set Delay" function to shift all the times so that the start time of the "Going somewhere, Solo?" line matched the start time for that line in the full subtitle file.

[Ortega]

I PM'd Shinigami with both the regular and forced subtitle srt., but he hasnt posted them yet.  I tested them and ther're in perfect sync.

[gammer]

I just re-did mine with SubRip and got it to sync perfectly.
You have to change the FPS to 23.976...I should have remembered that

Would you mind sharing your forced sub SRT for the upcoming Star Wars release?

Here's mine.

Thanks for the Star Wars forced subs Ortega.  For some reason I didn't even think about forced subs when I made my first disc.  When watching I slapped my forehead during the Greedo scene.  I'll redo it using your subs.

Thanks! I was a little worried when I didn't see it in the list on the first page.

[Shinigami]

I finally added Star Wars, Harry Potter, and Jaws subs to the list. I'm really sorry for being so behind, this semester has sucked for me. Until recently I haven't reauthored a Rifftrax since Star Wars, and I haven't watched one since The Day after Tomorrow!

[MSTJedi]

Anyone have ESB subs?

[MSTJedi]

Okay, I used SubRip and after quite a bit of fiddling with the syncing and a little editing, I finally got it figured out . . . I think.

I tried to put the subs in this post, but apparently they're too big. Anyone know of a good file storage/sharing service?
