I fell asleep before it finished late one night... I awoke later to the sounds of neverending footsteps (from the menu), which made for some creepy dream sequences before I was totally awake!

No joke!  Yes, I imagine a bunch of us have been there.  Last time I dreamed that I had arrived early for a party at Mary Jo Pehl's clifftop house.  Not a nightmare by any means, but weird.

We watched ours last night, and loved it. Probably my favourite CinTit so far!

My god, what an awful, awful movie.

Also, it has my favourite "host segment" they've done to date. (Maybe the only one I've actually enjoyed?)

I thought both segments were the best they've done so far.

Also, anyone start to think there's a slightly more sinister plot going on as to them being "held" to do these commentaries?  What happend in the opening then what happened in the first segment (don't want to spoil it for people)....   Maybe someday they will have the budget to build some sets and do real segments instead of the little bits in silhouette.

I also liked the host segments.(...would have been neat to see Josh have a choice between the 'electric lamp', 'suit of armour' or a Coleman Francis DVD box set.........and Josh choose the quick way out(death)...but the gang stops him before he can touch the lamp.  :D Coleman Francis or death..easy choice.)

I don't mind the silhouette segments...they could/should keep them....but add a non-silhouette opening and ending. (and come up with a 'stinger' closing)

Personally, I hope they keep everything in silhouette. I really like the style of it. (And couldn't care less about the stingers)
FINE

Yeah, I totally agree about keeping the entirety in silhouette.

It's a signature look, from the episodes to the website.  And it lends to a crisp, accessible presentation.

And now, to add a criticism:  In listening to some old MST recently (as well as a couple of Rifftrax), it occurred to me how much the camaradery of Mike/Joel and the Bots comes through like gangbusters in the commentary.  The listener hears despairing exhales of breath after a bad pun, or a Crow giggle after something Mike said -- little reactions that provide more of a sense of folks watching something together.   That's something CT might work a bit on, because presently -- as some have mentioned in these threads -- there's more of a scripted feeling, a group of indivduals at work, each waiting for their line.   The sense of togetherness may be a more difficult feeling to attain with 5 people spaced further apart, but it's worth focusing on, I think.

Remember they were under time constraints for 2, 3, and 4, because after the writers strike they couldn't find a studio to shoot in, when they did they only had a few days to get all 3 movies in.  I'm hoping the next few they have more time and can loosen up a bit (or a lot) in that area.

Trumpy's Magic Snout

Went and reviewed it on me blog site n that:

Loved it! but my word that's an awful, yet strangely entertaining, film!

Pak-Man

Oh. Man. What a movie. I'm actually a big fan of the "Family who hates each other has to stay in the same mansion while they mysteriously get killed off by a mysterious figure" cliche. Those are the best kind of old horror films... but the ending! In one 2 second gag, they completely threw any sense of suspense, horror, or legitimacy that the movie might have had (And there wasn't much) out the window. The riffing was great and the whole affair evoked more belly laughs than any Cinematic Titanic to date.

Bob

I think ALL movies should end with circus music playing.

Weird little film make by folks with obvious family issues.

Darned funny riff.

MST3Kgirl

this movie definitely left a stain.

i can't stand 70's movie freeze frames at the end. yuck.  :grr:

Piobman

So far my favorite CT at the moment. Solid throughout. Hope they keep doing the seedy stuff.

Plastic Self-Cleaning Duck

Was it me....or did they start off with a mansion that needed to be mowed.  And then later they show the house and there's no vegetation growing up the wall?

And no one mentions that it's gone?

Other than that I loved it.  Forgot how much I missed Trace and his talent for voices all this time.   Love you, Trace  :-*

atommo

I enjoyed the riff on the scene where the guy takes the covered human head out of the fridge only to find out it's the ham with pineapple rings and Mary Jo says, "I think I'd rather have the head."

Did you enjoy the TV series "Police Squad"?    ;D

CHF01

Holy cow, this movie was BAD! One feels like taking a long shower afterward, it's that horrible.  Of course this makes for a great CT outting.  ;D
I'm starting to really like these CT releases.  I really like the MST3K feel you get while watching these. I have a feeling these will all stand the test time and be as funny in 10 or more years as they are now. Ok, time to brave Episode 6, Frankenstein's Castle of Freaks. Keep it up, CT!!

Late to the party but I got this one and Frankenstein this week.

I really thought Wasp woman was a step up from the earlier ones, and Legacy of Blood is a step up from that.  All the complaints I had about the earlier stuff being stiff and distant were completely absent from this one, and if this is representative of the future then I'd say they've definitely found their groove.

Yakking with a buddy here at work today I realized one of my problems with the initial CT stuff.  In my head while I was watching Doomsday or Oozing Skull and, because I'd just watched an MST DVD the previous weekend I'm thinking "C'mon guys, you just did this last week!  Why so stiff?"  But of course, they didn't do it "just last week".  More like "just last decade".  Nothing others haven't brought up before but it just percolated into my slow brain today.

I'm surprised they're not widescreen though.

There was so much to riff on in that movie and so little time they were going to miss something.
