Terrific Riffs

hey all

Just wanted to say hello and see how the forum works. I am looking forward to creating some iriffs for everyone to enjoy. I have a couple friends and my sister who will be joining me thus creating a great team. Hopefully we can make you all laugh :) Now I just gotta figure how to create audio files and upload em LOL.

Dave =)

Welcome and so forth.  If you have any questions about how to go about it, we're generally a helpful bunch and there's plenty of tip to be found on the iRiffs board.  (Look at the "Help Make This Section Useful" thread for example.)

Thank you very kindly.....which topic is that thread under? Tried searching it and couldn't find it.

I plan on writing out a riff-script for a movie and getting it recorded. What do people generally use for audio that wouldn't take up an enormous amount of space? I also have a mac so does that have anything I could use? These are quick questions that I plan on researching anyway but figured if someone had a quick answer that would work too.

Thank you much

If you have a Mac, GarageBand is the simple way to go.  That's what we use for ours.

The only thing is it gets a little tricky if you are planning on doing Video On Demand (VOD) stuff.  You'll want to burn your project to DVD once you finish it and then rip it back on your PC (or Mac) using something like Handbrake.  (GarageBand exports the video with multiple audio tracks for some reason, and the transcoding will only take the first one.)

But if it's just audio, you should be all set.

From home on the forum, scroll down to iRiffs (it's the last board in the "Rifftrax discussion" section)  Click on that then look for the "Make This Section Useful" thread on the top with the stickied topics.

Or...I can just give it to you here http://forum.rifftrax.com/index.php/topic,10569.0.html

Right now I'm using Adobe Audition for recording audio, and I've seen quite a few different options for it mentioned around here, including Audacity which is a free program.  Not sure which would be best for use on a mac though.

Who's this Terrific guy and when is he going to riff New Member?

Terrific Riffs

I'm gathering you mean when am I going to make something? hehehe

Ironically enough, my first project was going to be "Jaws". Not three days after I became a member did Mike and company make their version. So I'm gonna watch theirs so I don't do any of the same jokes and try that out. Still extremely green at this but hopefully within a few months I suppose. I have no clue to be honest. LOL

Be well
