Paypal pending payment?

The last 2 rifftrax I ordered don't go through right away and it says the payment is pending and it takes almost a week for it to clear.  What gives?  I've never had this problem before. 
I'm sure next time I'll just skip paypal all together, but still kind of curious as to what the heck is going on.

You've paid with an eCheck.  Paypal gives you the option of paying via Paypal Balance (if you have $$ in your account already) or an instant transfer or an eCheck.  The first two will get you a link mailed automatically, the second one takes 4 or so business days.  You should be able to choose your source of funds before you check out.  If you'd like to repurchase them instantly, we will cancel pending transactions so you are not double charged, just email support at riffrax.com

Not being given an option.  echeck is the only one.  It's just so odd because I've never had this problem before.  I'll do the email cancel thing and pay through my card.  thanks
