Well that's why we put the on the product page for these releases the note that said, in the case of NOTLD:

Note: for those who already own Mike's solo version, rest assured this three man riff has been substantially reworked.

or for missile to the moon:

This is a three-man version of the RiffTrax previously performed by Mike and Fred Willard

Please email us at support@rifftrax.com if you feel taken advantage of, we will work it out.  But we added those tags to each one so that people could make a decision about whether they wanted to repurchase the riff.  I don't think it can really be taking advantage of someone if they know that going in.

I rush into things without reading.. :-[

I see something new, I buy it as Fast as I can and then read about it after the fact.. OOPS! :P

I think Both Kevin and Bill need to eat nothing but Bacon for a Week as punishment for this! >:D

My suggestion would be to offer a discounted price for the new 3RE, since it is a re-read and not new material, to customers that have previously purchased either the VOD, the DVD or the the Riff MP3 from this site. $1.99 sounds fair. Just a thought...

Plus, if we wanted the Fred Willard riff, we had to buy a dvd that didn't have the commentary, and then pay full price for the riff seperately.  Now we're paying full price again for that same riff to be read by slightly different people?

I really do hate to complain, but I guess that's all I use these forums for.  If I posted something positive every time I liked something about Rifftrax, I'd have thousands of posts.

I found room for both myself.. ;D

Wait, it's the same jokes, told by different guys?

You know, it was lame enough when you released Missile to the Moon on DVD without the commentary embedded, even lamer when you went on a 2-month binge of re-releasing already riffed movies with different riffs, but now we're up to the point of reiterating the entire project with the same script?  Ick.

Well I'm glad I didn't buy this.

Well.. Not Totaly unfamiliar 'different' guys.. I've heard their work somewhere else before.. :P

Not to state the painfully obvious, but nobody is forcing anybody to buy anything. If you don't like the re-releases, don't buy them. However, if you want to hear new riffs done over previously available movies (as is the case with Reefer Madness, House on Haunted Hill, and Night of the Living Dead), or you want to hear the three greatest riffers alive deliver the same lines as some other guy did (as in Missle to the Moon), the option is available to you.

Having never purchased any of these riffs before (besides Mike's solo NOTLD riff), I'm thrilled to have the chance to purchase all of them. They're hilarious and well worth the money, as far as I'm concerned.

This is true.  There's always next week if you're not interested in this week's release.  We have Jaws next week and a pretty much completely new riff of Carnival of Souls after that.

I know i'm more anal than Rifftrax, but why don't you just give us the percentage of new lines to old lines that are in the new scripts? Simple math, not that complicated. It would make things perfectly clear instead of attempting to be clear by using the world's most confusing language.

I didn't think this new riff was for people who bought the old one. Rather, it was for most people.

If that's true, why did Conor:

1) Kidnap my wife.
2) Send me a video of her gagged and bound with a note written in blood that says "BUY EVERY SINGLE RIFFTRAX RELEASE OR WE CUT HER THROAT."
3) Send me another note, written in ink, reminding me that I'm not married.

Why would they do these things if they weren't trying to coerce people into buying all Rifftrax?

Yikes - for those of you complaining about what...$4.00?? Cancel the internet subscription and start delivering pizzas. I'm just grateful we have this entertainment available again regularly after the drought following MST3K. This website and service can't be cheap to run so if the guys need to repackage some material every now and then to make a few extra bucks then go right ahead fellas.
