Wow.

I have no love for ROTJ. Well, I lie. I have a little love for it.  And I agree that the whole "second Death Star" thing is uber-lame.  But still, dude. :) Wow.

Oh, and yeah, I hate the way Han's neutered and lovey-dovey in Jedi.

Yeah, ROTJ is not a subject I can claim to be very rational about. I get a little poopy-stupid.

Doctor Who?

You know what I find funny is that people come into the SE hate thread and seem to be shocked that people are talking about what they don't like about the SEs.

bratpop

What I find funny is you.

No, just kidding. I don't really.

I'm not shocked, I just think it's stupid, nitpicky, and two-faced.  Someone shot a second earlier?  Someone boarded a space shuttle?  Get the fuck over it.

You don't, say, observe a Klan march and end up shocked at the racism, but you still despise it.

Doctor Who?

So now anyone who doesn't like the SEs is a member of  the klan?

Wow.

Also who forced you to come into this thread.

You same it evil for me to hate the SEs because it doesn't matter then how much more evil is it for you to hate me just because I hate soemthing that doesn't matter?

Wow.  You took it that far out of context?

The point of the KKK analogy was that you can go into something knowing what to expect but still hate it.

Going into a KKK march, you expect racism.  That doesn't mean you are less repulsed to see racism.

Going to a thread where people complain about Star Wars, you expect nitpicky nerds.  That doesn't mean you are any less annoyed by nitpicky nerds tearing apart a movie they profess to love because of ridiculously stupid tiny details.

And I never said anyone was evil.

Doctor Who?

If it doesn't matter why do you care?

Why are you even here?

Why not just stay away and then you will not be upset.

Why not start an SE love thread if you want to hear from people who love the SEs.

Yes I love the Star Wars surly the fact that I was able to pick out these "tiny" details proves that.

But you are right after all if they added CGI action scene to Citizen Kane and I didn't like that cut I have no right calling myself a fan of Orson Welles.

Good question.  I guess because I want to.  Why not just enjoy the movie you "love" and not nitpick?  We can ask these sorts of ultimate questions all day but they're really pointless.

Can you?  Or did some other nerd do it first and are you parroting it?

Citizen Kane didn't already contain scenes of weird looking aliens and outer space starship fights.  I can't see CGI making a lot of sense, but if they CGI'd in something like an extra dancer during the party scene or a few extra pieces of junk in the piles at Xanadu, I wouldn't fly off the handle and whine incessantly about what a terrible movie it is.

Doctor Who?

What if they changed Rosebud to a monster truck?

Your whole argument is based on the idea that anyone who doesn't like the SEs is just a stupid nerd who shouldn't be allowed in public with out someone like you controlling everything they think, say, and do.

Sorry but people have diforant taste and I have NEVER called the cut cut of the movies you like to be destroyed I am just asking for the older cuts to be released in a form that will make them viewable on modern TVs,you can still force me to by the SEs by making them an extra if you like but i will not pay more money for Star Wars unless it is I cut I enjoy watching.

If you hate what I have to say so much NONE HAS FORCED YOU TO READ THIS THREAD THAT IS WRITTEN BY STUPID NERD LOOSER WHO NOONE SHOULD EVER LISTEN TO ANY WAY.

I started the SE love thread so that you would have a place to say these things with out trolling.

And coming in to the SE hate thread and calling anyone who hates the SEs names is Trolling.

Also if I am a worthless nerd for saying that i don't like the SEs what does that make you for waisting time here and getting so upset over what a worthless nerd has had to say.

I have said my piece about the SEs and I refuse to feed the troll any more.

There's a difference between feeling they're ultimately pointless and an irrational Lucas-essentially-raped-my-Mum-while-pouring-sugar-in-your-petrol-tank venom.

What if they changed Rosebud to a monster truck?

What if a person compared apples to oranges?

Changing a sled named Rosebud to a monster truck is not equivalent to a guy shooting a laser a second later or the badguy getting in a spaceship somewhere else.

I like your strawmen.

My arguement is based on the idea that miniscule changes do not alter a movie, and that if you actually liked the movie, you could ignore these things.  If Rosebud was named Tulip, Citizen Kane would still be a great movie.  Why?  Because it's a movie about a man who gains money, fame, and power, but never happieness because he can never regain the youthful innocence that he gave up to get where he is.  Likewise, Star Wars is about a band of rebels fighting a tyrannical galactic empire, not about which scumbag shot first or where the villain got on a space ship.

I am defending George Lucas and the current cut of the Star Wars movies.  I am stating my counter opinion that movies should be enjoyed on the whole, for their narrative and their characters, and not hated for insignificant details.

And I don't love any cut of Star Wars.  They're mediocre sci-fi movies that are hyped up like they're the greatest artistic human achievement in 100 years of film making and 10,000 years of human civilization.

Maybe, based on fan reactions, you should open your mind to the concept that the changes discussed are not, in fact, miniscule, even if they only involve a few frames of film.
